link is dead

Also, one cannot compare a Lexus IS350 to a Corolla. That's like comparing a NIssan Micra to a Nissan Skyline...totally different animals!
The only thing they DO have in common, is reliability in their given segment.

Looks like a good buy just make sure that the owner has the service records. It seems that the owner took really good care of his car. The only concern I would have is the condition of the original paint if you ever want to remove the red vinyl wrap. I would ask the owner if they have photos of the car before it was wrapped. The last thing I would check is to make sure the car is a clean title then I would pay for a pre-purchase inspection for peace of mind, or get your mechanic to take a look at it.

I'd say get an inspection just to be sure but it looks like it's all sorted. There was a thing about valve springs on the IS350 but if that and all recalls are up to date I'd go for it. I wouldn't buy it just because I'd prefer to mod a car my own way but if you're happy with all the things they did then that just saves you money on mods

Looks pretty good. I'll echo the above suggestions as well.

One thing to note, is this going to be added to your cars you own or replace the Corolla? I've owned both. Each car fills a particular segment. The IS is night and day in terms of drive quality and interior quality. Taking apart a Corolla, there's quite huge difference in material quality say to a Camry or the IS. For a daily, I probably would stick to a Corolla just because repairs for a car is cheaper and body parts are cheap/easier to find if you happen to have to part on the streets for work/home. While that wrap is nice, you'll be a target to anyone who is a jealous POS who will do something to your car.. Now if you got a decent parking lot or just have the extra money, the IS is a nice upgrade and you'll be amazed in the different in the fit and finish.

Passengers might like the space of the Corolla better. At least the Gen9 Corolla I had for a few months for fixing/selling to a friend...space was noticeably generous for the rear passenger compared to the IS. Same goes for the trunk.

There is no comparison between a corolla vs 350. Thats not a bad deal at all. IIRC the owner of that one owns a vinyl wrapping shop in Indy.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s an absurd price? I’ve seen more recent year models for that price. Of course without all the additional add-ons which are subjective.

I agree, Add-ons do not increase a car's value. Neither does regular maintenance.
I'd recommend offering book value for the age and mileage...nothing more.

Yep. Regular maintenance will help keep the value but won't necessary increase the value. Sometimes modifications will lower the value but in pictures the car does look nice, but I'm not sure I'll be willing spend $9K for that 'nice'.

The KBB Value for the 2IS here is volatile. I've seen some really questionable 2006/2007 ones go for $6K, less than what some people are selling fairly clean the original IS (say 2003-2005). You know, dash is all gunk up, Door all sticky, seats a bit worn, 140K+. Yet I'll find a 2006/7 IS250/350 with low miles and looking clean for about $8-10K here. The Market price for an IS is a bit of a toss up unless say a more stable price for an ES350. Oh yea, don't mention the price of the 2IS at a car dealership. They are usually in the $8-12K range for a 2006-2008 model. Guess trying to get all the younger generation in their easy financing and get caught up with the interest (no credit or poor credit) and the higher than average initial sale price.

For what it is worth, I got my 2006 IS250 from a local small car dealership for IIRC $8.2K as-is in 2015 with ~120K I was lucky that the car was still within the period for new door panels and dash, so that is getting replaced. It was a decently well kept car but had signs of a lot of city driving/parking lot, minor scrapes and the like. Seem to be garage kept otherwise as the paint still had a decent shine. Tires need to be done, oil change, and misc minor things. IT had nice options such as the sport pkg, parking assist, HIDs, and ML System. Recently had to swap the transmission, but considering how much they still cost and the uncommon ML system/HIDs, decided to just fix the car.

I bought this one in FL last fall for $7800.
has new dash and all four door panels.
nav unit works perfect and not a spec of corrosion anywhere.
drove it home to WI. Blew the alternator half way, changed it in Orilys parking lot for $185.
No problems since.
Im not into the carbon stuff, just like to pop off the VSC and traction control and be a sleeper.

I wouldn’t buy a wrapped car. Could have terrible paint or even rust. It may not, it’s just a risk.
