Question Manual trunk release rubber pad ?

Hello fellows, 2007 LS 460
hey my trunk opening pad is deteriorating. It seems to be sticky. I thought there was
something over it like a button or lever, but it is just a rectangular rubber pad that you push in.
Am I missing something or is that all there is on the trunk lid to manually open it.

Anyone know how to change this on a 2007 ? I don't want to be pulling everything apart when I don't have to. Just the minimum to change this part ?

Ditto. I just ordered mine too so looking forward to a good answer. I was quoted $600 by a mechanic.

there's a thread in the forum on changing it.

I HIGHLY recommend getting the ~$30 whole module replacement rather than the $10 replacement.

The amount of work involve to save $20 is WAYYYYY too much.
I did the $10 replacement and wasted an extra hour or so and extra scrapers, paper towels, and chemicals.

Pretty much have to take apart half the trunk..

How much does the other part take to install ? What is the part your talking about ? and oh, yes, Please

when keys are in your pocket.. easier to press the handle and let it start going up..

kinda weird to take your keys out RIGHT front of the trunk..
