Default Once again PDR saves the day !

Dang

You would think the Dealer ( Lexus) would have more
competent technicians. I bought my SC to get the car tinted
and the work came out great but after a week later, I notice
they must have put something on the back of the roof
putting a few small dings/dents in the aluminum roof
Here is the before pictures and the after shots
Fortunately,I know one of the best PDR in CA
and the three dings were removed.
The aluminum roof is not easy for a new PDR
and only a seasoned PDR can take any dings out

Must have "put" something on the roof? Man, they must have "put" it hard! Lol

Glad the PDR worked out. Hope you charged it back to the dealership.

I think it is possible when they worked on the roof,
they had something in the trunk but I can’t really
proof it. The dealership replaced a window corner
gasket for me with no labor charge so I didn’t want
to make a big fuss about it.

My PDR guy said whatever they had, it probably hit
the roof hard to cause the ding/dent. The good news
was it was popped out by my dent guy or I would have
been screaming

I'm glad that you were able to get it fixed. I have a few "new" dents myself from the hail storms earlier this year. I need to look into that some day.

When I lived in Nebraska, a car I had back then was hit hard by hail. My insurance paid for it under comprehensive since it was an act of God claim. $250 deductible and they don’t hold it against you.

Excellent work! PDR is the way to go for dents when the paint is still intact. I had similar dents ( 3 in a row, evenly spaced ) on that section of the roof. Mine were caused by a six pack of soda in the trunk that I though was low enough to clear with the top down. That section of roof is facing down when folded. As mentioned, aluminum stretches differently than steel and only highly skilled PDR techs should be used for the repair.

That was why I didn’t make a big fuss

because there were the exact evenly spaced
dings on my rear roof. I could not tell if they
left something in the trunk when they lowered
the roof on my tint.

But I absolutely agree if your PDR guy is not
top notched, aluminum is hard to remove dings

Thankfully I know the best PDR in the business
in SF,CA

I wondered th force must be hard for the aluminum
to create a ding though

Thanks, I'll have to look into that. (Fortunately, the dings that I've found so far are fairly hard to see.)

aluminum is highly malleable metal, easy to ding and remove dings (Coke can?)

Actually Aluminum is a lot harder to work on.

metal will move back to shape but aluminum
is very difficult to work on.

check out the Tesla’s forum on how the owner’s
cry when they get a ding and the cost of even
minor dings and you will see.

so be careful with the roof . Our SC roof is very hard
to work on as the Interior liner is also hard to work on
with all the braces.

My PDR guy had to work from the top of the roof using the pull
method
