Default Converting 7” to 10” Display + Radio/Center Console Upgrade

Add me on IG: 3ISFsport

THIS WORKS FOR LEXUS IS,RC AND OTHER MODELS.

If you have a 2017-2020 Lexus IS3XX with navigation then get something like This to add Apple CarPlay and Android.

There are aftermarket options for wider screen on nav and non nav version of our Lexus. Find those in different threads or buy This

For OEM then follow bellow, YES, IT DOES GET EXPENSIVE.

To convert from 2014-2016 nav version to 2017-2020 nav version with wider screen then you have to buy all the Navigation components plus the center console and joystick as shown on the picture bellow.

IMPORTANT!!! Before anything you need to get the VLDS wire needed for wider screen. Without it you won’t be able to do anything. And yes, you need to replace everything on the center of your dash.

VLDS video wire is different. Smaller!

I had to buy the whole dash wiring harness from a 2017+ Is equipped with Navigation to obtain the VLDS wire.
I then traced and removed the VLDS wire I needed to make this work.

I had to replace the following parts from a 2017+
1. 10.25” Screen
2. Radio unit with navigation. (Mark Leviton if you have so already)
3. Climate Control unit.
4. Center Control dash. (Center condole Arm rest is not necessary to change) require to change the joystick unit and mouse support.
5. VLDS video wire. (Sourcing this might be difficult) try contacting Chinese supplier of LSailt products on AliExpress.
They might be able to help.Since they provided me with a VLDS video wire that plugged into my screen when I bought my android box.
An aftermarket Android box that plugs to the back of my OEM radio and screen if you want Apple Carplay
With it I am able to get Android Auto and Wireless Apple CarPlay. This works with all OEM 10.25 navigation units. Contact me on IG @3IsFSport for more info.

Source parts through Parts.Lexus.com, your local dealer or other Lexus parts websites.Oem 10.25” Nav conversion Parts list.

oo. I'd like to do this too. Can't you just stop by the service department and ask them to order the part? Or get the part #.

already tried. They can not locate a part number for the wire. It appears the wire is part of the whole wiring system for the dash.
Ttying to find a cheaper, better solution. Either the plug part or the wire with the plug to splice it in.
if I can find this then I can let you guys know if it’ll work by just plug and playing the radio and splicing the blue wire into the 10” display.

Here is the connectors for the display. I believe one is for navi and one non-navi.
If I had to guess, based on your pics, it's the top one. The part number is indicated by the arrow. To be safe I would order both...they can't be that much each.
I realize on the unit it looks like a 2 pin connector, and the diagram shows it's 1 pin.
It could be that a single wire casing comes into the connector body, but has 2 wires within it. Perhaps one is the shielding...not sure though.
Perhaps it's possible to transfer the wire(s) from your old connector to the new one. You won't really know until you have both in hand to compare though.

Man, perfect timing and definitely following this thread.
I was driving this morning and wondered if I could update the screen to fill the bezels.

Might have to cut into the wiring like what Sasnuke referenced.

Hopefully no cutting. As the wire terminals are inserted into the connector body, they can be removed undamaged.
If the cavity in the 2014 connector is the same as the 2017 connector, then the wire can be transferred from connector to connector without damaging it.
This would be the ideal scenario.

This is Great. Thank you you very much.
I went to the dealer and they could not find these part numbers. Where did you get these images from? I am trying to give my sells parts person an idea so that I can contact this part number. I think you might be right that no cutting my be the way to go.

The image is from the Lexus Electrical Wiring Diagram lol! If the parts guy can't find them...good grief!
Perhaps if he contacted his parts distribution centre, one of the staff should be able to figure out how to order them.

Where's Jeff Lange? We need his help here!!

Following because I would love to do this mod too. Also do you need the whole new stereo setup or can you just go with the screen conversion?

I think it might be a situation that the old unit does not support the maximum screen resolution of the new display...thus you need both.
The heater controls are likely just there for the matching faceplate to the radio.

Yes, like Sanuke said. You would need the radio as wel due to resolution compatibility.
you will also need the AC plate due to fitting to new radio. You will also need the dash cover where the power button is. That will allow for you to see 10” display better. Might need the new joystick. I already have the new one on my car. If that’s the case then you might need to replace must of the center console.
