How Hard Do You Guys/Gals Drive Your IS?
In early January, I finally pulled the trigger and purchased a new 2017 Lexus IS350 F Sport AWD Black on Black and have been loving every minute of it. I normally drive in Sport+ Mode and drive the car hard (obviously wait till the engine warms up to optimal operating temps). Curious on driving habits of others, and how has the reliability been so far with aggressive driving with this 3rd gen IS. I honestly love this car and have no regrets. My previous daily driver was BMW 335i xDrive and this is hands down a better car in my personal opinion (not as fast, but a more complete package).

Mine is new but I drive it fairly hard. No issues so far. The moment I get in I switch the drive mode to custom (set for suspension/steering in sport) and once it gets to proper temp, I switch it to S+. I never drive in normal or eco.

I drive in normal during traffic but often switch between sport and normal. If I see patches where I can take advantage of Sport, I let her fly After almost 50k hard miles, she still feels new without any problems. Very reliable car.

I typically drive in normal or eco. It's just a habit of my own to not waste $$$ on gas. But I do put on sports+ (never really use sports mode) when I think I need to turn tight corners like ramps and etc. Otherwise, I keep the car in manual mostly.. (I owned MT prior to 3IS)
So far, sports+ gives me about ~15mpg... combination gives me about 23mpg.. quite big different imo

I usually just drive in eco mode most of the time. It makes the switch to sport that much more noticeable when I do use sport. Dont really find the need to use it much though. Plenty of power when I need it still, but my IS350 is the sit down and relax car. Perhaps because of this, I see much less of a reason to want to drive it hard.

2016 IS350 AWD. Drive her like I stole her hard everyday. Fire her up and switch it to sport mode. Have 41,000 kms. Wish it would just stay on sport mode when I turn the car on/off. Funny thing is if you have it in ECO or Normal mode and turn the car off/in it remembers either mode, just not sport.

Eco mode for everyday driving. Its softer more, comfortable and drinks less. Man the IS350 sips fuel.
On long straights quiet roads for sure im going to let rip with sport + and drive it hard. But one thing i havent done is floor the pedal, im just not game enough to drive it that hard...

I tried eco mode a little bit when I first got the car. I couldn't handle how handicapped it feels. Always normal mode to start.
Since moving to Texas I definitely drive more "spirited". The speed limits out here are much higher than I'm used to; therefore, I do drive much faster.
Not to mention, that the speed limits are apparently just a suggestion.
So, there's lot of Sport +.
My MPG has also improved - win, win.
