Default 2018 IS 300 (Aka 200t) LED turn signals!

So I was following E46CT's LED conversion thread (great DIY btw) for the turn signals and it TURNS OUT that for the 2018 IS 300 F Sport you DO NOT need ANY resistors on the back or front. I installed the turn signal LED bulbs on all 4 corners and before I put them back into the light housings and I tried them out. I was pretty surprised to find there was NO hyperblink! I was pretty happy not having to splice into my wires. I also followed the rest of E46CT's DIY for the interior lights and everything came out perfect. The only thing I recommend is using different wedge bulbs than the one's suggested in the thread they aren't too bright, but if that's what you're going for they work pretty well and are inexpensive. Thanks again E46CT! I will post some pictures a bit later once it's dark out.

Where did you purchase your turn signals from?

Amazon, I usually go with Diode Dynamics, but they are pricey so I went with the ones E46CT recommended which are the JDM Astars.

hmmmm. I had bad experiences with JDM Astars when they first came out. Assuming it has gotten better. Gonna give them a try again. Superbrightleds have some good quality stuff. Their 921 wedges are a lot better than what is supplied locally and way cheaper.

Ahhh, I remember these wedges. They kept blowing fuses off my Altima which was why I had to return them.

Lmao hopefully that doesn’t happen to my IS. I’ve only ever used Diode Dynamics which are superb, but I’m being cheap haha.

Seems like it's a hit or miss batch for these. I usually bulk order from SBL and don't mind paying $5 a piece for quality.

Diode Dynamics it’s like $20 a pop for their best ones which are the ones I got for my G37 haha but you get a 3 year warranty.

I wonder how the switchback turn signals last. They would make a nice addition to the car. Only thing that I don't want to do is put resistors(thankfully you posted saying there is no need) and the mirror lights.

The Diode Dynamic switchbacks are legit those are the ones I have for my G37. Idk about any other brand. If you do install LED turn signals on your IS let me know if you had the same experience with not needing resistors.

You installed
these these
JDM Astar bulbs on all 4 turn signal corners right, straight plug-n-play? Still no hyperflashing issue? Thanks

I did try the ones with the resistor in my 18 but it didn’t work from JDM, just so I’m clear you’re using two front and two rear no hyper flash? Correct? No modification at all? Could you repost the link of the exact ones you bought?

Ill give them a try, if no modification is needed only plug and play.

Thanks in advance

Cheers
