Default Melted cylinder 8/ Forged build

Hey guys, so I figured I'd start a thread since I've been lurking for a while now. Some of you know me as Jake on facebook IS groups. A short bit about me - I've been working on cars since 2002 (short stint at Lexus from '08-'11), from turbo DSMs, turbo civics, RX-8, WRX, Evo 8s, A4s, Duramax(DD/carhauler/winter beater) I've always had something fun to play with. Currently I work at VW/Mazda , it pays the bills.
I always wanted an ISF after driving/repairing several, finally made it a reality a few months ago.

Long story short, I got a little too excited for nitrous and ended up leaning out with too much timing and blowing the ringland on cylinder 8.
Luckily!! The cylinder wall looks okay, being my engine (118k) has lower compression than I'd like (160s on bank 1, 140s on bank 2 @ 32*F)
The engine will be getting a special treatment with custom CP forged pistons (Thinking 12.3:1) and forged BC sportsman rods (I know, our rods are already forged).
As for custom tuning, I've exchanged a dialogue with Rafi @ RR and will be getting custom tunes for the car.

Here's my current setup:
K&N intake custom heat shielded and duct routed (Got my IATs 10* above ambient with very quick heatsoak recovery for idling)
Sikky headers(currently getting re-ceramic coated)
Joe-Z exhaust
Zex 100 wet shot w 10lb bottle, Fuel pressure switch failsafe, pressure gauge EFI tee, lighting solenoids and purge valve, intellitronix rpm window switch. (all-in-all a very clean install was done. If it wasn't for the fogger you wouldn't know it's there.
OBD fusion w/ advanced PIDs via Amazon FireHD tablet
Zeitronix AFR gauge in clock(some of you have seen this)
Zeitronix Ethanol content analyzer custom mounted by shifter
Custom 2lb lithium battery (occasionally I've ran gutted)
RR Engine mounts
FIGs rear sway bar
FIGs LCA bushings

Stay tuned for pictures.

Keeping stock piston sizes, or going hone/bore 0.25mm over to clean it up?

GS-F and RC-F run 12.3:1 compression, so that sounds good there.

Dropping the block off tomorrow. I never invested in micrometers, t gauges, etc since I don't use them enough to justify it.
Once we get a measurement we can decide what route to go.
Pistons are custom built to order but take 6 weeks.
The wall is surprisingly okay looking for bending rings up like that lol. Scary thing is, it was totally quiet.

Why did it lean out with100 wet shot, did you manually operate the Nos? the bore looks salvageable you might want to crack test though, what do you mean "Custom 2lb lithium battery (occasionally I've ran gutted)" good luck on the rebuild and run a AFR gauge cheers.

In a nutshell, I was distracted by my passenger and forgot to top off with fresh 93 instead of e25 that was in the tank. I also forgot to reset my ecm and my learned knock value was 24.5 so it was no bueno.
I asked him what the AFR gauge was reading and he said he didn't remember 😖
The battery is a lightweight motorcycle battery with converted stud terminals. It started my car in 20*F weather. I got called out by an AMG that said he'd walk me so I wanted the car as light as possible and that started it all.

Note the shifter and clock.

It will be N/A for a while until I dip my toes back in the laughing gas.
Considering there are RCF/GSF running a 100 shot on the same CR cast pistons I'm not too worried about it yet.
I just want to get the car running first lol.

Note the shifter and clock.

What do the digits beside the sifter represent? Looks like a very clean installation and OEM like.

Shifter gauge is ethanol content.
I'll have a DIY soon.

Hate is when the piston gets hot and the gap closes and pops the piston like that.

Another thing to note here is how impressively clean the rod bearings are after 118k.
especially since I'm questioning how well my car was treated by POs.

What gear were you in when the car broke?
