Default Windshield replacement question

Is there anything "tricky" about our windshields? My other Lexus (LX470) is notoriously hard to align and seal from leaks.

I would like to know if there is anything outside of the ordinary where i should basically interview installers or if its a straight forward job and dont have to worry about it.

Any reputable installer should install your windshield without any problems.

Always! No point in just laying over and letting them do as they please.

Note that the various sensors are on the glass, masks and shaded areas vary by option content.
ie., rainsense wipers, auto high beam, humidity sensor all have glass mounted modules that the
glass has to accommodate.

luckily i dont have anything except the lights but that is a good idea to take a before picture to make sure all the cut outs are in the right place after.

My insurance didn't cover OE glass but I paid the difference from OE vs the replacement and the installer was happy to install OE.

The difference was a whopping $7

ALWAYS go with factory glass. It's worth paying a little extra and waiting a little longer.
I must say...Lexus glass has scratched and pitted faster than any other windshield I've owned. No sure if other people have noticed it???

OE was going to be about $150 more which normally wouldn't be an issue if i just hadnt spent $3500 for a new trans in the LX this week.

My OE glass always seems to be pitted. Once a year i go and fill all the cracks and there would be 20 tiny nicks.
