Used car sales tax in Alberta Canada
Any fellow members in Canada can help me ?
How much do the buyer have to pay Canadian sales tax for a used car (in this case its a SC430 from California) ?
Thanks much

If the car is in Alberta and the buyer is a resident of Alberta then the buyer pays 5% GST (Goods and Services Tax) when the seller is a dealer. There is no tax payable if it is a private sale.
If the car is being purchased in the USA and imported into Alberta then the buyer pays 5% GST and duty if the car is made outside of North America. In 2008 I bought a Lexus IS300 in Seattle and imported it into Alberta. I paid the GST and 6% duty because the car was made in Japan. Also, the Registrar of Imported Vehicles has a $295 fee. Check out this website for lots of info: https://www.riv.ca/ImportingAVehicle.aspx
Hope this helps answer your question.
