Inquiry about a source for Discontinued parts
Does anyone know of a vendor that specializes in discontinued parts for a 1994 Lexus SC 300? I need the two inlet air hoses (part #17881-46080 and #17881-46100) in order to pass my smog test and Lexus parts department is saying they are discontinued and no longer available from Lexus. Now what?
Also, any upcoming Lexus car club events in S. Cal, where we might find such after market vendors for discontinued parts and/or potential buyers for our car? She's a real cream puff in excellent condition. DaveWeigel@msn.com or 714-840-5397 in Huntington Beach

Thanks much, 2jzdc. I've tried them both plus ******************.com, Partsgeek.com and, of course, Lexus too but none carry the specific air intake hoses I need. There are two, a short and a long one. I suppose I could use a universal for the short one but the long one has special fittings for a sensor and another fitting for another smaller hose to attach to it. So, the long hose needs to be of an OEM or reproduction special design. Because they are both cracked because they are so old and brittle, it will prevent me from passing our next smog test and no one has the parts, not even junk dealers. The car is otherwise in beautiful condition and we're trying to sell it. 1994 Lexus SC 300. Any ideas? Many thanks. Dave 714-840-5397 in Huntington Beach, Ca.

Just 2 cents here.
you could use shrink wrap, it's a rubber sleeve that shrinks to size/shape when you heat it with either a heat gun or lighter/small torch.
you can buy it in different sizes and color. It's used for electronic wire connections to cover instead of electric tape.

If you can't find the hose, try some kind of glue or epoxy, there are so many kinds. You might have to make your own using a hose thats close to the original one and make it work, I bought my 96 infinit g20 like that until I found the correct one.
Keep an eye for a part out car.
Good luck.
