Default 5LTRV8 Track Build

Well...I have been dragging my feet putting a build thread together, but figured I owe it to this community to contribute.
My goal with this build has always been to add the best components to build a track monster that will also be completely streetable. Functionality always trumps aesthetics for me, and each key component will focus on reducing weight, increasing car control, and maximizing grip. I bought the ISF because of the monstrous V8, Japanese reliability, rarity, and usability.

I purchased my 2013 ISF in October 2016 with 31k miles:

I drove it for a couple months before adding the baysonr front lip and an XForce exhaust

In September I finally had time to get on the track at MidOhio... Was amazed at what this car with only an exhaust, stock Bridgestone tires and no suspension upgrades was able to do at the track.... MidOhio is less than an hour from my home and is my favorite track.

After MidOhio I now had a baseline to start working with. In preparation for my next trackday at PittRace in October I added RR Racing USRS, Tune, Carbon Intake Elbow, AFE filter, and Some Firestone FireHawk tires in 255/285.

The day at PittRace was really awesome despite having rain in the morning. The car performed flawlessly and continued to impress me.

Had an awesome day with Gearbangin as we attacked the track....

After another awesome trackday I began planning the mods for over the winter to get ready for a full track schedule this year.
Started off with a mod that I had planned to do for weight reduction and aggressive sound. I found a local welder that built Indy cars for Rahal Letterman for 17 years. He had the ability to weld titanium and did an excellent job with these beauties. I did the heat anodizing myself just because

The weight savings and sound was definitely well worth it.
Next I purchased a Racetech (My favorite Motorsport seat for some time)fixed back seat to drop weight and to improve car control and driver comfort on the track. I hard mounted the seat to the brackets with no sliders for the optimum connection and rigidity.

Default Part 2

Next was a new item to help with high speed sections...APR GTC-200 spoiler:

Also added the APR Carbon Gurney Flap that adds additional downforce without the need to increase drag by changing the angle of the spoiler

I next installed a custom alcantara wheel and shiftknob that turned out amazing.

I also customized a Racetech towstrap and have some maintenance items to get to work on:

I have a few big mods left that are currently in the works before the first track day of the season at MidOhio. One of the mods is a custom motorsport coilover setup that will add to the capabilities of this track weapon...Stay tuned

Just as a note...The reason I chose to go with a single race shell seat and not replace both was to retain all of the airbag functionality. Like I said above, my goal is to create the ultimate dual use vehicle, and with three kids I need to have working airbags for school dropoffs
This little resistor keeps all the airbags functioning and no dash light from the driver seat removal.

Quick Preview🏎

Mike at Figs is putting this custom Ohlins TTX setup together...It has been a pleasure working with him over the last several months to make this suspension setup a reality. His knowledge of the ISF and suspension setup on these cars is second to none. Same shocks run in LeMans, GT class racing, and used on Koniggsegg’s, Pagani, and many more.

A few cars that run the exact same shock package:

Koniggsegg Agera RS and One:One

Ohh, a P1. Nice find. Share the video of that beast ripping up the track if you have it!

Nice build so far as well!

Nice build! Track-focused and function over form accordingly, just like it should be... Especially dig that wicked muffler delete sound and the APR wing!

Nice P1 butt shot btw. A friend just sold his the day the warranty expired. He's told it's the most heavily-tracked P1 ever, so probably a great decision. The ride-along at TWS ruined me for all other car experiences. At least I'm allowed to drive my F. Ha!

Thanks 311! The P1 at this event was babied...he never had it in race mode. The kids other car was a new GT3.
I will get some sound clips up of the exhaust soon...it definitely sounds mean.

Interested in seeing the shocks setup - what spring rate are you going with (F/R)?

Trying to nail that down. Too much spring will just reduce shock travel, and with a high end damper like the Ohlins TTX Id rather let the shock do more of the work. Will either be the 18/14 or 20/16.

Wow, I haven't checked this thread out in awhile.. Nice mods! I want to do something with seats/belts, but that's gonna have to wait till maybe next year.

Thanks Mike! Let me know what track days you have planned this year...I plan to do about 6 this year between MidOhio and PittRace.
