Default does your wife drive your car when you're away?

I've been in Toronto for 2 weeks straight, and my wife will text me pics of her and our son, etc. I'll notice he's in the car seat of the LS430. So I asked her, how come you're driving the Lexus (her SUV is a lot newer and the most valuable car we own)? She beats around the bush saying it was convenient (but she dropped me off at the airport with her car, not mine)....finally she goes, "I just like the power." hahahahahahahahaha

312 ft. lbs. is still not bad....

I'd be careful there John. Next thing you know she will be driving the LS all of the time and you will be stuck with the GMC...

I don't think any of us can fault her. Next, maybe your son will tell her what my 2 year old tells me, "Mommy, I want to ride in the pretty black car."

I think my son outgrew it....but before, he insisted the vanity mirror is always down (well he's a good looking kid, at 4, the comments have not stopped, it's like people are playin' with us). This was particularly annoying at night....I even was gonna either take the bulbs out, or maybe put different ones in....even still, the car seat is an old hand me down in the LS. It was a nice new one in my wife's....

Since I own 2 of these things, it hasn't been an issue. I think if I had bought a 94 Buick Regal, she wouldn't have minded at all. Her biggest concern would have been "Does it have air conditioning?"

When we only had 2 cars, my wife liked driving the 5-spd Maxima to work. Unfortunately she's driven an auto for 6 yrs. now....and my DD has been auto for 16 mos....

Every time she gets an opportunity my wife grabs my keys! I guess it's not as fun to drive her 'loser cruise' (2011 Odyssey). Ha ha!

She will definitely ASK to drive my SC430 at least..in which I respond, "sure but park far away from civilization and put gas in it"

Nah, my wife is too afraid to drive our LS, even when I insist she try it. She says it is much faster than her car but it is also bigger and she can't see out the windows as well due to the tint. She also finds the backup camera and parking sensors distracting and more likely to confuse her and lead to an accident.

I gotta tell you I saw a SC getting gas at Costco last week, and if I had a car collection of say 10 cars, that would be one of them. Its design is timeless. When they were new, I remember thinking dag that's prolly the type of car a somebody would drive lol

lol. my car is a hand me down from my wife. so once she got her new to her truck, this car was just supposed to be a "beater" for her when she drove to VA for work. after i fixed most of the things that were wrong, i said it was ready for her to drive. she said that she probably was never going to drive it again. so i took it for a couple days and fell in love. so it's now my daily driver. i told her, even if she wanted it back, she's out of luck, lol.

My mom used to always ask to drive my LS and SC when I got them. The one time she drove my LS she scraped my front bumper on a parking block.

Since then only my sister and mechanic ever drive it. My sister also has an LS430 that I used to drive a lot before she got her license.

My car was supposed to be a beater too, but I park it far away and have never gotten a ding since 10/16 (it has 3 tiny ones that were already there). I also feel bad, the car was from Naples FLA, likely garaged, and now it's in the northeast and never seen a garage. Oh well I like to think its earlier life will keep it on the road longer...

My missus daily is a clapped out old Mitsubishi Montero Sport. When I say daily, I mean it gets used once in a blue moon because its severely clapped out. Neither of us like to drive it because its a heap of ******. Anyhoo, on the rare occasion she needs to drive to work and I need to do some work on the truck at the same time, I'll give her the Lexus to take to work. But with the current fuel prices I think the Lexus might not be doing the city traffic for any longer
