My drive belts are finally getting annoyingly noisy. Anyone have any pictures or references for someone who wants to attempt this? So far in my searching it looks like there are two separate belts instead of one long serpentine belt. I see a part number for a generator belt and a A/C accessory drive belt. Any info would be appreciated.

• mines a 2009. The tundra forums have a diy that is well documented and it shows a single belt. I can’t figure it would be different on the lx570, but on eBay there are two different lexus part numbers that come up for lx570 drive belt

did you try to put a belt dressing on? this used to happen in my older lx470 and little scary worked for few months .it came back and I sprayed it again problem fixed.
I didn't think I need to change the belt because it didn't look worn out

Theres one belt, its pretty straight forward. I got to the tensioner from below and once I got the old belt off and then new one over the rachet arm I locked it in place using and extendable rachet arm against one of the braces,. Makes it much easier since you can get belt on where it needs to be and then just slowly release.

I use a Gates heavy duty belt. PN cross-reference for the 2009 5.7L Toyota V-8 is K080948 for a standard (equal or better than OEM) or K080948HD for the heavy duty version. Either available at your local NAPA or other parts store.

Not sure why eBay shows two different Lexus part numbers. Gates PN above fits anything Toyota builds with the 5.7.

Imo, belt dressing to fix a belt is similar to pouring oatmeal into the radiator to stop a leak. Both are old school and only occasionally effective.

Given the price of a new belt, it does not work. To me, dropping the better part of $100K on a truck and then starting to go cheap on replacement parts does not compute, especially when we're in the boondocks 50 miles from the nearest paved road. The serpentine belt is changed per Toyota's recommended mileage or time, and the old belt goes in the toolbox as a spare.

Iirc, every 60K. Check the owners manual to verify.
