Other ML system owners have done things like replace the foam surround (there's at least one company online selling kits - do a google search). If that doesn't work you'll likely have to replace the speaker itself. eBay and Amazon are options here, just watch out for fakes. And of course there's the dealer - you won't like the price, but it'll be the correct part and authentic.

I’ve had 4ohm Rockford Fosgate 6x9’s in my front doors for a few months now with no issues in my NAV/ML truck. Lots of people on GXOR and mud have gone to them with no issues. The whole conversion is less than $100 and sounds infinitiley better.
