Upgrading from 2nd gen to 3rd gen IS350 F-Sport
Hi all,
I am new to 3IS forum. I have owned my 2nd generation IS350 for 2 years. I am planning to upgrade to 3rd generation IS350 F-Sport. I couldn't find any information on the differences between the years for 3rd gen model only. Could anyone point out to me if there is any differences between each year? I am looking to purchase 1st year out 3rd gen is350 f-sport. Is there anything wrong with this year?

If I'm reading correctly, you want to know the difference between the 3IS Model Years. Seeing that you're from NZ, not sure what the standard equipment would be since it varies. From the research I had done, the US 2015 model included vented seats, Lexus Enform, and a heated steering wheel for the AWD models.

I would avoid first year 2014 as thats the one people seem to have electrical issues with. honestly go for 17+ if you can. best structure as the front end and floor pan/rocker panel got structurally beefed up for 2017+ years. earlier models you could get crunched up legs in an accident.

Thanks for your valuable information. I don't mind 3IS being abit slower than 2IS. I am not going to take this car to the track or drag strip, so it won't matter. I want something newer than 2IS with updated interior and exterior. Something that is still fun to drive and able to overtake other cars with ease in the country road. Offcourse lexus reliability with better interior space i.e. better rear leg room than 2IS. Initially I was thinking of getting 2011+ ISF i, but the fuel economy just makes it impractical for daily drive and also outdated interior and exterior styling doesn't attract me.

That's one of the reason why i want to get 3IS. Is the fantastic fast 8 speed transmission ported from ISF and the other is LFA style gauge cluster in the FSport model.

I'm on the market to get either a 2IS or 3IS myself. I'm leaning towards the 2IS because they are cheaper and less tech (less issues imo when they fail). I love the looks of the 3IS and interior is great but I don't like that mouse pad thing for the dash. Plus from what I gather the 3rd gen IS350 is not faster than the 2nd gen even with the 8 speed gearbox is it not?

Get the 2017 model year as that is the model year with the higher safety ratings as it comes standard with LSS+.

2015 Lexus IS350 vs 2017 Lexus IS350
Hi, I previously owned a 2015 Lexus IS350 F-Sport. I sold it and recently purchased the exact same model in a 2017 (IS350 F-Sport). For some reason my 2015 model seemed to have more horsepower and accelerated better than my newer 2017? Is that something anyone can confirm or has heard before?
