Default Radio question

hello this is my first post - I have searched for an answer to my radio issues in my 2007 RX350 and could use some guidance. Does a 2009 radio fit my model? My radio stopped working and it comes on but volume does not work just registers “0”- when I touch any button on nav screen the radio comes on and then goes off. I have checked amp and it is fine. I pulled radio out and checked connections and they seem fine. I do not need the cassette on the original radio and just need to know if an 08/09 radio will fit. Much gratitude for your help.

Hello Daleda,

If I am not mistaken, the 07 and 09 are the same body and I would assume the components will fit from an 09 to an 07. I suggest you go search for the part number and input and 07 and an 09 and see if the part numbers are identical, if they are, you are good to go.

Good luck.

Default Radio issues

thank you. The 07 radio’s serial # is 86120 - 0E020 and the 09 serial # is 86120 - 0E070 so the difference might be 07 has cassette player and 09 just CD. Mine was manufactured in June 2006 and the other in April 2008. The wiring harnesses on back of each player appear identical.

I've seen in other threads that disconnecting the battery for about 20 minutes and then reconnecting will trigger a reset on the factory radio. I am going to be replacing my factory radio with a Android based, Bluetooth capable very soon, so I have read every thread on the subject multiple times. Before shelling out $$$ for a replacement, I would waste 20 minutes. Who knows, it might work. Good luck.

If I can locate the reset post, I'll add it.

Already used ClubLexus to fix the previously non-working stereo. I got the dealership to knock off $2000 because of the stereo not working, brought it home, unhooked the battery for 20 minutes to reset the computer while I finished mowing my lawn... This Lexus replaces my wife's 2002 Ford Exploder that was on its fifth (yes 5th) transmission, and the timing chain "slapped" (whatever that means), ruining the engine for good. Good riddance I say! We're movin on up!

Here is the original post for the radio reset.
Hope it works for you!

DArn thank you so much for the link. Unfortunately it is the same. Volume control stays at zero and radio comes on and turns off. Odd thing is when if I touch any button on the nav system sound comes on but then goes off. It must be the radio. Seems I’ve checked everything else, a real real head scratcher.

Thought a video would show strange behavior. Radio audio on comes on when any button on nav system is pushed. Everything has been checked amp working, all wiring checked, a real head scratcher, and probably the head unit, thoughts. I can buy a used unit for under $100 from an 08 which will fit and I do not need cassette tape.

After endless looking for a direct replacement I finally found this one on eBay (at a great price) dropped it in and everything now works splendidly. It seems these Pioneer radios have been pretty unreliable so fingers crossed this one will last.
