Cannot seem to find this answer anywhere.

And, what is the most recently released version of maps?
Thanks!.

Default Great information...Thanks

Thanks!
When I look at the Lexus website for upgrades, it asks me what Nav system, and it doesn't even show a Gen 7.
Perplexing...

I think Nav updates are a dealer only installation requiring their software and hardware and your money.

Default Dealer Upgrades

I do understand that only the dealer can install...but it would be nice to know what updates exist and how far behind I am...

Any idea what the Gracenote Database is or does?

Lexus used to use www.lexusnavigation.com for this kind of information. You could order map updates and you could look and see what roads were added/changed from one version to the next, to help you determine if it's worth it or not. For whatever reason, that site is no longer active.

As for Gracenote, it will show an album cover on the display when a song comes on. Not overly useful...

Is there any confusion between software and hardware?

One can get Nav-map data (software version currently it is xx.17) updates every year [October]. The other software update (similar to bios) is initiated by Lexus. One day when you start the vehicle the display will tell you that the update is happening.

Hardware (generation ... the intent of the question as I understand) is the hardware/technology_based and it happens after few years and some how makes it way to the new models. I have never heard of Lexus retrofitting a newer version of hardware into older models. One can certainly try it on their own.

My original question of "gen" for my Nav hardware was because I needed to know whether my 2014 RX350 uses a hard drive, or DVD, or chip, or embedding to know how to order a map upgrade.
I DID go to the dealer and evidently received the upgrade...and I'd like to verify whether that happened.

When I go to Setup, it shows my model to be 11LHENNA-AZ01, then it shows a software version of V6614800, and Bluetooth version 21.220
It also shows a Gracenote version.
BUT, it simply displays dashes after Map version....no information.

So, How do I verify my maps are now current? And, not maybe a year or two old?
Nav does appear to be working properly and does display maps...

Post 101 in that thread applies to a 2011 RX450H.
I don't understand the reference...

Try the steps outlined in post 88, same thread.

I read post 88 and attempted to do it...to no avail.
I've cycled through every option screen in the system and the only place I can see map version is on the software update screen...and it's blank, just showing dashes.

There is no other screen on the Nav panel that shows map details or map versions...
