Default How many years have you owned your SC and...

How many more years do you plan to keep your SC for?

The first SC came out in 02 and is now almost 16 years old
I happen to have an 02 and the only way I would sell my SC is
If I ever decide to move to an LC is maybe 5 years..

what about you guys ?

Owned my 2005 since Jan 2008 so 10 yrs. Car is 13 years old and like you, may consider replacing but only with another nice hard top convertible. Let's see if Lexus makes one.

Mine is a 2002 and I bought it in 2006. I plan to keep it until it becomes too much of a burden. Hopefully, that will be never...

I bought my 02 in July 2009. It had 50k and now has 76k. It was hand built in April 2001 so it is closing in on 18 years. I’ll keep it until Lexus makes a convertible LC or comparable. Can’t see going to a coupe after owning a convertible. When that happens my son has already said he wants it as he knows how well it has been taken care of and upgraded over the years.

We have owned ours for about 18 months. Only put 3 k miles on it so far. We love it and plan to keep it as long as possible...maybe forever (at least for me).

I bought my 2002 in 2006 with 29k and it now has 57k. It was a daily driver for three years, but now sits covered on my driveway with a battery tender all winter and just comes out in the Spring/Summer. I intend to keep it for as long as I can get in and out of it (which may not be to many years hence ). It is due for its main dealer service this month and then there will only be three service boxes left in the service booklet!!

Cheers
Steve

16 years. I will keep the car until:
(a) I die;
(b) the roof dies.

I am at 7862 miles in 13 years That's 604 miles per year all with the top down. Even though its almost a garage queen. I do all of the maintenance and do get to drive it a little most every day as long as the top is down. Since its the metallic black pebble beach model . Its not really a color its wash me every week . Every time I drive it still feels like a brand new car.I have no more mods that I can do since its got everything I want.

Johnny If I ever decide to sell it you will have to deal with my wife since I must be dead.

Hello Bob, when did you get back into circulation? Good to hear from you!

My 03 was bought in 2010, December, 98,962 miles.

Currently has 117,853. 19,000 miles in 7 years. No complaints and gives me a smile every time I drive it.

Gang

Although we all love our SC,remember you must still take
the horse out of the barn each month and take
The car on a “ Long drive” to loosen things up
and get everything going from the A/C , to all the engine
gaskets etc...

or your SC with 10K for a 02 will do a slow death.

my father had a 86 560SL and he only had 50K on it
when he passed away, I discovered the A/C is dead,
all the suspension were dried, engine gaskets eTc

I ended putting about 5K back in the car to get it back
To it’s glory days. Sold the car for $20K

The A/C typicially will go forever as long as you
circulate the system each month. I have an 96 Benz
3 Lexus ( LS,SC RX) and all my A/C after all these years are still
cold with no issues.

I'm a buy and hold kind of guy haha.

99' GS400 - my daily driver dealer serviced since new. no problems at all. plan on keeping.
02' SC430 - purchased last year, love the car. plan on keeping for the foreseeable future.
'17 GX 470 - hers but she may trade depending on what comes out in a couple years.

Next up:
in 2 years - '10 IS-F. Maybe this will replace my daily? We'll see.
in 5 years - '17 LC500. Saw this at the dealer and the craftsmanship is amazing. Beautiful car but will wait for price to come down.

I think we will always own an SC430 though just because they don't make them anymore and they have a certain style you don't see everyday.
