Default stereo upgrade

I have a 2003 sc430 and bought a new Pioneer double din unit to get features like bluetooth and reversing camera, when then fitting was attempted by the local auto electrician we discovered an issue in that the unit will produce no sound through the speakers, on investigating it appears the problem lies with the fact my car did not have any nav screen fitted at all and this is necessary to make it work (we used the MVA12L beatronics harness) Does anyone know of a way of bypassing this as i would rather not source an out of date second hand unit just to make this work. is there another brand of screen that can be used with this harness or can i get away without needing one somehow?

On my car the beat Sonics unit had the up and down arrows under the steering wheels changed the function to front and rear balance. I had no rear volume. Steering wheel volume needs to be turned up separately from the radio head unit. Using Bluetooth from a iPhone required ITS volume control to also be turned up.

yes three different controls. With Apple car play and a wired connection only two.

takes a few minutes sometimes for the radio head to link to the phone by Bluetooth. Even though the iPhone says it connected.

been blasted out a few times when it worked.

When I did my upgrade five years ago ran into similar issue. You may want to read my post here. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...-controls.html
The PDF document link in my post still works and has substantial details.
On my new radio I set the volume level at 20 and then use my steering wheel controls (< >) to adjust volume up and down. The “set” acts like a mute feature.

Default sc430 stereo problem

Sorry didnt realise i had any replys email didnt show, in answer to your question, no it appears mine was never fitted from factory it does not even have the buttons on top of display pod to operate a screen, but the factory stereo system works fine all though some of the speakers have been replaced by a previous owner but still has original ML head unit and amp in boot. Bit lost on how to make this new one work as it seems like i might have the only SC430 without a factory nav, i am hoping there is a solution especially as factory unit works without any nav screen.

Have you tried the following:
on the new pioneer head unit set the volume level to 20
assuming the beatsonic unit was installed correctly, use the volume control arrows on the steering wheel to raise and lower the level. Avoid pressing the set button and see post #4 above. Oh, BTW did you check the mute button on the new head unit? Just askin.
