Default Bushing questions... why is it always the LCA bushing cracking?

All
I see several threads on Lower Control Arm bushings going bad and options of replacement (Poly, OEM, RCF?) and installation.

what about the other bushings? Do they “crack” also?

The dealer did did say my “caster bushings are cracked” but is very vague on the location of the bushing...

Being that all I have read are LCA bushings, would you say this bushing location is what they are referring to?

Any input is appreciated

it's either the pressed bushing that the shock or frame bolts to or the lower ball joint boot that can crack. Ball joint boot is easy replacement. The other bushing will require a press to remove and install.

See this thread:

Read Post #3, "Ask The Dealer" what he means.

If it's the LCA, I have a set from an ISF with little miles.

Any rubber bushing with a fixed anchor point and a rotating component like a control arm can degrade over time. Range of motion, loading, material make up, temperature, and things like oil and/grease impact how long bushings last.

So if you have an oil leak atop your bushing and fly over curbs and rail road tracks, the contamination and loading will take out rubber bushing sooner than those free of contamination that cruise on the interstate all day.
