Default Michelin pilot sport a/s 3+

Decided to use the pilot sports on my 200t to replace the stock bridgestone tires. Had them on for about 3 days and they were the worst tire I have ever experienced, Loud tire noise, harsh handling, but they cornered and had great traction. I was going to just deal with the noise but sadly at around 70-75mph they made this awful humming noise.(I usually drive on the PA turnpike and thats 70mph.) I also got an alignment as well and the car did not pull at all when driving before or after anyways. I went back to the dealership and they confirmed other people had also had the humming noise with those tires, they re balanced and re checked the alignment - same issue. I've seen other people on this site state the tire is great but im just sharing my experience. Michelin has a warranty program and they refunded the dealership and I got the Continental DWS 06 installed. Much quieter tire and no noise at high speeds!

That's a bummer to hear! I have the same tires on my 2is 350c and I think they're great. Good traction, good wear, but unlike your experience, no noise.

Of course I was coming from a pretty blocky Achilles summer tire that had A LOT of road noise.

I've been through two sets of these on my '14 IS 350, putting 120 miles a day on them at mostly at 80+ mph. I've never had any such noise issues. I am familiar with such noise, having tried Continental extreme contacts on my previous TL -- horrendous.

i recently switched to them too and noticed that noise. mine kicked in at around 65mph and it sounded like hollow ringing noise but it wasn't bad enough for me to get rid of them. it did feel like it handled better than the oem tires though..

I drive about 2 hours every month on the PA turnpike and hearing that noise for 5 minutes made me lose it. Thank god I was able to switch them out!

What kinda roads you guys got? I remember growing up in LA the highways were all grooved? and made a really loud noise when you drive over it. In ontario, our highways are mostly all flat so you don't get that additional noise.

I have the AS3+ on my 14' is350 and love it, the difference was really noticeable.

I installed them about three months ago and I'm happy.

I have these AS3+ on my 14' IS350 F-Sport for about 3 months now and love them. I haven't experienced any issues at all. I live in Germany and drive on the Autobahn daily at speeds anywhere from 55mph to 125mph (dry road) with no issues. I've even driven on roads with rain and snow (lower speeds) with great handling.

14 IS 350 here. Just had the A/S 3 + installed last week and am having the same annoying sound. Was convinced that a wheel bearing was going bad but I don't have the other symptoms indicative of such a problem and reading other remarks such as yours. Sound somewhat starts at 55mph but at ~72 you can def hear it. Sadly I like the performance and handling so not switching to Conti DWS. Really tempted to get the tires Road Force balanced to see if it make a difference.

I had similar humming noise at certain speed with my Michelin PSS. It seems that the noise has gone away after driving about 2-3k miles.

My IS350 has had Pilot Sport A/S 3+ on it since I've had the car for the past 1 1/2 years. I find that the car has, in general, significant road noise on all but the smoothest of pavements. It is definitely worst at high way speeds. Not sure i recognize the above exact type of sound at 70mph but maybe it is the same thing. (I came from Audi's that were much quieter when it comes to road noise... different tires however so not sure it is the tires, the car, or both. I'm thinking some of both, as there have been car reviews of the IS that have also noted unexpectedly high levels of road noise for a near-luxury car).

So when it comes time for new tires, I'm going to try something else. Per tire rack, looks like the Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus is a very good all around tire that scores the best on road noise. Does anyone have any experience with the Pirelli?

I had to drive the family '13 rx350 for a day and right after getting back in my IS I said wow these tires are loud. I guess I didn't notice it without driving another car back to back, however the grip is absolutely amazing. Goes through snow like a champ.

I added a set of these to the car last week on my new IS350. Initial impressions were they are fantastic... better grip, comfortable and quiet. However, I have since changed my mind. Had the car on the highway last night and between 110KM/h and 125km/h they have a VERY loud resonance. Almost like a high pitched whine. Completely unacceptable and intolerable. I didn't experience it previously on the highway at slower speeds but on major highways with higher speed limits, these tires are unusable.
