Default 9,600 mile. LS430 WOW

Saw this on eBay. I guess it could be a good thing and a bad thing. You get a low mileage car but time and sitting is generally not kind to a car if not serviced regularly. Also some very strange things going on in the photos. Back seat leather missing and loose trim all inside the car. Not to mention crappy photos.

Sometimes low mileage just doesn't matter...
B pillar trim is missing, leather missing in center of rear seat, and the dr door panel is gone!

I used to sell a lot of stuff on eBay and it pays to take good photos. His absolutely suck.

I wouldn't touch this car at that price. Probably wouldn't want it at any price. Looks like a lot of work will be needed starting with a new set of tires just for starters. I also wonder what it smells like inside???

Any car with abnormally low mileage is suspect. Well maybe if a little old lady only drove to church on Sunday in the summer. There's no explanation why someone left a 70k car in storage for years? Missing door panel? I wouldn't touch this car. Also note he has many other cars to sell. That's also a flag.

Looks like a hulk of crap IMO. Plus that is IMO an ugly interior color, not to mention its an ultra-lux car, so factor in air suspension replacement costs.

This car has been listed on the Detroit craigslist for at least the past couple of weeks at $15,000. The photos there were, to be charitable, not the best and there was no detail about what was done to it in or after storage. The seller did, however, focus on its car phone system! Although shopping hard for a nice LS430 up to that price point, I never even contacted the seller given the red flags.

I just sent him a message via eBay asking about the door panel and pillar trim. There's some weird damage on the armrest for the right rear door as well.. Like something was pressed up against the door.
Also missing the center caps for wheels, unless that one is the spare.
It's interesting, but, yeah, I wouldn't...

From what I can tell, it looks to be a decent car, but the photos don't really show the whole picture. They're not very good. What's going on with the driver's door panel and the pillar trim on the passenger's side? Also the front seat looks extremely dirty or worn. Which is it? Do you have the center caps for the wheels?
Also is the rear right passenger door arm rest damaged (large crease in center of arm rest)?

The tires, albeit low mileage are too old to safely drive on in my opinion, and the timing belt is in a similar state. The rubber no doubt is reflecting the age of the car.
Again, nice car, but it's not always a good thing to let them sit for a long, long time.
Good luck with the sale

I wouldn't touch it. With my recent low mileage purchase, it was a requirement that the car had been driven regularly. The proverbial "old lady driving it to church and to the grocery store" car.

Missing interior pieces suggested (to me at least) that the vehicle was crashed and the pieces were thereby damaged or perhaps lost over the years while the car was apart for repair.

The ultimate question is what would it be worth intact with an undamaged history? $10,000 max?

Whole thing is just weird. Curious what the carfax shows? If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it's probably a duck. I would stay away.

With all the interior trim issues maybe it was a flood car. That back seat with only foam in the center is strange too.
