Default 1997 Red Fury Build

First off, I hesitated to do a build thread. Im not sure why I changed my mind but here we are. First off I need to thank 1 person/shop, Dan @ First State Motorsports in Claymont Delaware. He is doing the build at his shop for me even though I live in CA. So lets get with it...... I bought the car about 90 min away from a past member here on CL his screen name is autoboy, he had a chameleon color sc, I was in the market for a 97+ and found the car he had on a Craigslist Ad, and bought the SC from him. The car wasn't in bad condition, it just needed some love and a turbo! The day I purchased the car I was in contact with Dan @ FSM to arrange mods for the car and a timeline to get stuff done. The plan that was established was a "mild" build. 2JZGTE VVTI motor, 264/272 cams, borg warner s363 turbo, ATF built trans with a mild stall, fuel upgrades......blah d blah d blah. You get the point. We brought the car home, and immediately starting going through what it needed. I figured even with low miles (104k) I needed to go through the suspension, so first thing was to order new tein coilovers, NEW front upper and lower control arms, LS400 big brakes, all new rear bushings, new rear camber arms/thrust arms/etc with steel braided brake lines all around. Next was the body, I had the whole car re-painted front to rear in the stock color along with new tails and super clean headlights added. And some Vordoven wheels in 18x9.5 in the front and 18x10.5 in the rear with some 265/285 sticky hankook tires added. I will add more pics and keep everything up to date as things progress, the car left me yesterday and is now on its way to FSM for the build. This morning I got off the phone with Patrick from ATFSpeed, to arrange the build and payment for the built A340e trans, so everything is moving along nicely. Pics will be added below and I will update as more things get done to the car. enjoy!

Today I ordered a new replacement leather interior kit consisting of NEW leather front and rear seat replacements, including matching center console replacement, and door panel armrest covers. When the car comes back I will do the sound system at the same time.

As for the "happy toyz truck" I still like that movie till this day. I even dressed up as the truck in grade school!

would you mind letting us know who you used to ship the car and what it cost to ship from what zip to what zip ?

reason I am asking is people interested on my 1997 5speed who are from CA have been wondering how much it cost now to ship from east to west coast.

thanks

Yes for sure! I will drop the info here for you on the vehicle shipping.

I spent $1k on the car being shipped from L.A. to Claymont DE with the company that I will get you the info on.
It was a $200.00 deposit with the balance being provided upon delivery.

Your car looks great and this build looks very promising. Are you in LA or SD (you mentioned you're about 90 minutes away from John)? I'd love to see your car in person one day once it's done.
