Question What to do to recover power/acceleration? Just hit 110K, 2006 IS-350

2006 IS350, Sport Package, All Stock, 110K

Hey guys! My IS350 just hit 110K and I feel like the acceleration and power is a bit less than what it used to be. It is not too significant, but noticeable for me. What kind of services do I need to do to recover some of the lost hp/acceleration?

I have been suggested the following:
  • Spark Plugs
  • Injector Cleaner Fluid
  • Engine Air Filter
What else? Would love to get some of your thoughts on it.
Thank you in advance!

Follow option 2 at the link below to reset your ECU by pulling two fuses. The car learns your driving style and the reset may help it feel faster if you don't drive it hard very often.

Spark plugs are recommend every 60k so you are overdue for them if they weren't already changed once. Engine air filter is a good idea to check too.

After you get a maintenance done. Check out the Apexi Throttle Controller. It's a nice upgrade to the throttle lag.

Dare I say that oil quality matters too!
The VVTi is a controlled oil leak. Use the best oil you can aford and if running synthetic you may find 6,500 mi interval to be a good cutoff or less if you don't mind the expense.

I throw Chevon Techron in 3 to 4x a year but deff before temps are freezing to get the water out of the tank.

I would imagine most of your miles are all highway so the good news is that's not a lot of miles. If you haven't cleaned your injectors and haven't been running a top tier fuel that would be the first place to start along with new spark plugs.

Some other maintenance items: Clean Throttle Body, Change oil (Synthetic), Air Filter, Change PVC valve, Change differential Fluid, Change ATF (trickle method 2.5-3.5 quarts at a time), reset computer.
