engine idles @700rpm, then 600 to 900 a few times ?
sorry I meant 700rpm NOT 7k !!
when it's warmed up, it idles quietly at 700rpm for about 15 secs then tac goes slowly between 600 and 900rpm a few times, then back to 700. and repeats. AC not on nor is there any apparent other load.
any thoughts?

I would clean the throttle body and reset the ECU.
