What is the market prices on ISF
Hello, Im a first time poster, I come here and read most of the posts but have never really participated in terms of commenting or starting threads as most of my questions are answered via the search function. The forum is really useful in terms of DIY, as I do usually everything in my garage. Im starting this thread to see what is the current day good asking price for an ISF. I have 2011 model, bought it in 2014, but have to let it go as getting ready for a downpayment on a house. I had to decide between the F and s2000 but ended up choosing the s2k as its more of a weekend car. I'm local to the bay area, posted on sf bay area craigslist, my asking price is 35k, wanted to know if that is decent, should i price it higher or maybe lower, what is the going rates these days for an ISF?

Its 2011 obsidian with about 52xxx something miles, all stock. Im the second owner, car was bought from stevens creek san jose so has been california car all its life.. I just put tires on the car and did an oil change, the previous owner did all his service at stevens creek so have full records. I bought it 30k and put about 22k miles in 3 years, I did all the maintenance myself. I'm car guy, I love the car but couldn't keep two weekend toys. I'm asking on this forum as the prices seem to have a good range to them and there is no thread on what current people paid for theres, it will actually be pretty good posted thread to have as people can have good idea whats good and fair deals. Plus the rarity of this model as I believe only about 5k total for the US market, there aren't many in the market to gauge what there going for.

Pricing can vary quite a bit with years, packages, location, condition, history, mods, color, etc. I recommend going on auto trader/cars dot com, and craigslist, searching within 200-500 miles for similar cars (2010-2012) with plus/minus 20k miles and pricing accordingly. Dealers will of course be more pricey, but also negotiable. I've seen some people price their F's way too high, and some dealers not knowing exactly how rare the market may be for these.
TLDR: The best way to compare is to research your own market as if you were going to buy. That way if a potential buyer tries to tell you he saw the same car for $8k less 200 miles away you can tell him it's a salvage or otherwise noncomparable model. I waited 6 months to get mine, and snagged it for way less from a dealer than what even private party people wanted..
StillTLDR: Because of rarity, check local cars and price accordingly. Good luck!

35K would be a good version of MSRP based on your rough details.
If I were the buyer, I'd ask for 32K straight up if that's your starting asking. This is without any other details from your end but the assumption that the car had no accidents and it passes basic PPI.

I work for a banking institution as a loans specialist here in CA, I input the make model mileage color and options and here is what I got from our system, this wont be super accurate but it'll give you an idea on what's on the market, Buyer is the only one that will tell you what he thinks its worth and how bad they want it. Hope is helps
Retail- $36.7k (what dealers will sell it for)
Private party- $31.6k
Trade- $30.7k

for what its worth, an exceptionally clean 2011 Obsidian with 42K miles, Clean Title/Carfax, previous CPO sold for 39K private party here in SoCal just 2 months ago. It did have quality mods though: BC Coils w/Swift upgrade, Weds wheels with MPS, etc... I wanted it but it was out of my price range, but another buyer scooped it up pretty quickly.
There's rarely more than a couple on the market here in SoCal so depending on how quick you need to sell, you can get 35K for it if you wait for a buyer who is looking for one with your specs (color combo, mileage, location, etc...)
Good luck with the sale, I did the opposite of you -> sold my AP1 S2K for the ISF, but mine is a daily.

I think that's a pretty good price for a 2011 with the interior color combo. I browsed the bay area & LA craigslist the other night, & there were hardly any ISF's for sale. Like about 15 to choose from combined, I'd hold out for the right buyer but at the same time I'm not sure how much of a rush you are to sell it for the down payment.

I have to say that the IS-F was the hardest car to find out of every car I've owned / shopped for. The IS-F is quite the rare car so it isn't easy to put a price on any particular example because the examples are all sporadic with mods, condition, mileage, ownership history, etc. I've looked around the market for about one and a half years before finally pulling the trigger. I think your asking price is fair--whether or not you are willing to wait for the right buyer is up to you.
(Based on the owners I have spoken to when I was shopping, it seems like throwing out a low offer is pretty standard from shoppers. Can't say I'm not guilty of this either.)

Thanks for the responses, it feels like I'm asking a fair price. I'm in no rush to sell as I haven't committed to any house yet, just trying to get my ducks in a row so when I do commit I can do it smoothly as possible. Mallninja I completely understand from buyers perspective as well, it took me 6 months to find this car.
Also Jondls33, Im with lawrence1, where are you getting your numbers from? I would expect auction pricing being the cheapest but somehow its higher than trade in and private party.

samcha, i am interested in what you will end up getting. I will probably have to decide in ~3 months if I am keeping my 2012 or not. Most likely will place my order on the M2 this week or next (not here to debate the reliability aspect, simply can't pass on a 6MT in a nice package).
