Default Christmas came early! Body kit time!

Hey all, so I got a steal of a deal and pulled the trigger on the "IMEX" body kit. Although it has no labelling, I've been following body kits for a while and knew the original name as IMEX. In any case, thought I'd create a thread as it progresses. Bought from eBay. Seller was awesome, from Poland so used my limited Polish to make the connection. Original packing was too large so Poland postal service returned it to seller. I messaged three days after order asking for update, and owner searched and found his crew didn't repack and mail. After confirmed mail, got first bundle after a 7 days and second bundle after 10 days. Cleared customs with no charge. Arrived in great shape. One small crack and chip but hopefully repairable. Now to find someone with experience in installation and fiberglass/bondo work. Also, will start getting my custom hood with vents completed to polish off this project. Let me know what you think! Proposed final product attached, more photos soon.

Good luck Shaun. I will be following this, are you going to fabricate a rear spoiler too? I haven't seen another copy of this one yet but I think a similar, bigger whale tail version could look better.

....good luck with this sir !!!! You know I'm rooting for you.....I really like this kit & hope it turns out like the pics. I had a chance to buy the fenders from someone in the classified, about a year or so ago, but missed the listing by a day & they were gone

The kit isn't expensive, it takes a lot of work to get it right but it was fun doing it.

It all depends on the installation, but it pretty cool from those pictures. A better set of wheels would really complete the look.

Best of luck!

Thumbs up

I like it a lot. The SC is my wife's ride & I don't think she'd go for it. If it was mine I would, as it makes it look more masculine. To me, the way I see the finished product is the way it should have come out of the factory.
Hope there won't be any complications putting it together.

Chris.....From OZ.
.....I knew the price wasn't that bad, but a member or 2 had fitting issues with theirs, about 5 yrs ago. A good body shop should be able to make it work, but you'll have to pay on that end. Trust me, I'm not trying to discourage anyone, because I'll definitely jump out there for something, if I really like it....lol

Thanks for weighing in everyone! I'm excited but I've also read all the stories about fitment issues, but it got it at a great price so I hope I can find someone who will have more experience and thus I will compensate them appropriately. Here are some other photos of the shipment.

Here's a few pictures of the damage from shipping. Hopefully shouldn't be an issue for someone with bondo experience.

As for the rear deck spoiler, this kit included a slightly different one from OEM. Looks a little more angled and longer, but at some point I want to add a tasteful wing. Not the type shown above like the 3000GT, but maybe something more like this...
