The moment the light came on, I reset my trip meter.
here's what I got today. Only pumped in 10.6 gallons too.

Yes 8.5 right when the light comes on. Factory spec is 11.9 gallons. I'm going to push it further on my next ling distance trip. Since I'm going to be commuting 150 miles per day soon. Im looking to get 4 days between fill ups.
I'm gong to try to fill it past the 11 gallon mark.

I think I've hit around 150 miles after the light once. I wish I had tested this back when I ran out of gas on the highway.

???? I heard it will be a major hassle if you run out of gas on the hybrids. Then only a Toyota or Lexus dealership with the right equipment (Frankinstein Power start SYSTEMS) can restart the car due to TOTAL SYSTEM SHUTDOWN to protect the drivetrain? ????

Isn't true in all cases, at least. I used to drive a Prius C before my CT, and I've run out of gas once in that while testing the range limit. My mom, who now owns and drives it, also ran out once. Both of those times, plus the time in my CT, worked out fine. Just fill up the tank with a little gas, then start the car up and go.

Im going to test range in the coming weeks. I'll roll around with a 2.5 gallon gas container and see what happens. Im sure I'll be clenching the butt cheeks at the 150+ mark lol.
@radin, you up for the challenge since toy the high mileage man.

That time I ran out, I was not actually trying to run out, I was testing the limit by going to my usual gas station at the end of a run to see how much I would have to fill up with. My calculations showed I had enough to make it. In fact, a few days later, I filled a tank with MORE gas (without running out) than I filled up when I ran out! Very strange.
@SFarmer: When I ran out, I was on the highway approaching an exit that leads to a gas station I've used before. The car went into electric mode and shut the engine off. I coasted all the way to the light, holding my speed at 20 MPH. I rolled a right turn through a red light (this was late at night so no oncoming traffic) and kept the car at 20 MPH to maximize my electric range and rolled right to the pump. Phew!

This is 105 miles after the light has come on and range has went to past zero.
you talking about a mere 5 miles past the range lol. You can do at least another 100 more.
