Default Slip indicator light flashes and front wheels can't move

Visited my mechanic last Saturday to check on my front suspensions on my 2002 AWD.

Turned out the back caliper was bad and we replaced it . I left the mechanic and for the first time I noticed something quite strange. When I brake, the brake pedal seems to pull my leg forward and after each break once I try to accelerate, I notice that the front wheel can't move freely . Then I hear a lot of noise on the front side of the vehicle and the slip indicator light flashes. After a while I could move a bit without the noise but once I brake again and accelerate it occurs again. And whenever it happens, the seems like someone is holding on the front wheel and with that annoying noise.

i need help as I have not seen anything like this before.

I don think we can diagnose this over the net. I would suggest, give the mechanic a call and discuss how he can repair it.

Update: I disconnected the ABS cable and everything seems to be fine. No more binding on the wheels after braking. But now the VSC and Abs light is shown on the dash after unplugging the cable. Please what could be wrong?

It can be anything from sensors to wires to ecu to actuator.

Since the problem happened right after the visit to the mechanic, I would still suggest take it back to him and see if the sensor wires got cut etc.

Update
Thank you Salimshah for your response. I took the car back to the mechanic, he discovered that the master cylinder wasn't functioning properly so he got it serviced and now my brake seems softer and more active. The Binding on the front wheels that occurred almost every time I got the car to a halt is no longer there. Though I still feel a little binding on the front wheels rarely. The situation reduced from let us say 20 occasions to just 1. And the slip indicator light doesn't flash when I notice the now little binding. But still I want to get it resolved absolutely. So how can I diagnose a bad wheel sensor or a faulty actuator since there is no light indicated on the dash?

Thanks
