Default Some dust coming out of the windshield vent

Several months ago, I took the my IS 350 ‘06 to a dealer to have the airbag recall addressed. They told me that the vent motor needs replacing. Indeed, a light started to come on when I start the car and after about 1 minute it was going away and the AC started to run.
I took the car to my mechanic who noticed the problem but could not find any error code.
This lasted several months.
then one day, upon starting the car, this kind of dust blew from the vent and since then, no light and the AC works fine.
The problem is that the dust, it looks more like insulation, keeps coming out at start.

Any ideas?

Maybe something fell down into the vent and was getting lodged and causing the light, but eventually got vibrated out of the way of the fan. Now it's deteriorating and getting rubbed on by the fan and stuff is blowing out.

My best guess.

So do I need to take it to my mechanic or is something I can wait. The car has 134,000 miles.

Try to change cabin filter first, 2 years is quite long time. I have used to change it at least once a year. Even if it wouldn't fix the problem, it would be good thing to do

Ps. remember to turn on air circulation before turning the car off to change the filter!
