Default Not ES Specific... getting new car smell back

So I have a used CPO 2013 ES and although nothing is bad smelling inside, my wife and I were wondering if there is anything we could use to get that "new car smell" back in to the car. Any ideas, or places where I can ask this same question?

Thanks,

Bob

Do what I did: Buy a new one!

Yankee Candle has New Car Smell scents you hang in the car somewhere. I didn't know about the one above. Might have to give it try.

Zaino's leather cleaner and leather in a bottle will do the trick.

I've never really seen a product that did a good job replicating it. The closest I've seen is something like a leather fragrance, but it's still not the same thing.

That "new car smell" is probably going to be a thing of the past, apparently Chinese consumers HATE it, and associate it with air pollution. So now carmakers are trying to make their cars completely odorless from the factory.

Thanks everyone.

Popgun, I think you have the best solution! Given current budget though I will look into the other ideas.

Thanks again,

Bob

breathing in unnecessary chemicals is probably not a healthy thing.

Not sure about the new car smell, but if you just want to remove any scent, the baking soda treatment for the carpets works well. Sprinkle it liberally on the carpets, and also leave a small tub of it in the car over night (or a weekend, if you aren't using the car). It vacuums out easily, and any scent typically goes with it.

Mine still has that smell after a year of driving it. I suspect it's cause I hardly ever have the windows down.

On a smelly note. I did the dumb thing of picking up Hawaiian Khalua pig and placing the bag on my passenger seat. The bag leaked as soon as I placed it on the seat. I took it out immediately and tried to clean it up with a microfiber towel, flushable wipes, and ozum air neutralizer. I have a slightly salty smell on that seat still. I used a natural mutlipurpose cleaner on the seat, but since it's the perforated seats, the next step is spraying Fresh Wave on the seat and letting the neutralizer do it's thing. I prefer not to have any scents in my car.

Yes.

If it has leather then go buy a piece of leather from Lexus for your car. (any part will do)

Place leather on back floorboard of car.

Nice leather smell will permeate the interior of the car.
