Lightweight 17" wheels ... on a budget?
I'm not about to spend 4 digits on wheels, so I'm looking for weird ideas.
So many cars share the 5x114.3 bolt pattern... there must be one that came with a good, lightweight, sturdy wheelset.
COSMETICS ASIDE, what are some decent lightweight wheels that a guy could/should seek out? Maybe they came OEM from an old Maxima, a Subaru, or who knows what. Maybe they're even forged?
Even if I needed hub rings (or spacers), no problem.
Again, I don't care about whether 18/19/20's look better, and this thread isn't to talk looks, I'm purely after specs: 17 inch, lightweight, and round.

I wish I could go 16"s but those can't clear is350 calipers (only is250's can run 16s)
Hoping for a set of RPF1's to fall into my lap.
Yikes. Do R34 wheels turn up often ... anywhere? I'd love some, but they're not common in the U.S. Thanks for these suggestions!
Best I'm finding so far are an Evo IX set of Enkeis. 20lb/corner.

I have a set of Kosei k4r's 17x8 et48 from a previous car (15 WRX) that clear front and back of my is350. They are 15 lbs !!!! The bad thing is that they are square 235/45 and the rear fights for traction. A 8.5" or 9 would be much better back there.

i was in the same search earlier and I end up going with a set if FAST FC04 18x9 ET40. they are 19 lb each. requires a 5mm spacer to clear front brake. They also have a ET30 version which I am sure will clear the brake but I wasn't sure about tire rubbing (I run 255/35/18 up front)
I may have posted picture in my older thread somewhere
paid CAD$800 brand new
just a note, RPF1 17x9 ET35 does not clear IS350 front brake.

Why do the RPF1's fail to clear calipers? Is it a backspacing issue, or do brakes hit the barrel wall? Kind of a bummer, it's one of my favorite wheels and i swear I saw a picture of black 17s on a white AWD IS350.

Wow, 15 per corner? This is a good tip, thank you.
Good to know. Yes, sounds like good value, and they are available in a weird dark brownish color.
Thanks for the tip.
