113k Miles GS 350 (Transmission oil change?)
Dear all,
My car just hit the 113km mark, I bought it with 110k on the clock and I don't have a lot of history of the car, I know that the last dealer maintenace was around 50k, after that it was taken to independent shops.. I have been making the car up to date by myself, the valve gridning recall, pcv valve replacement, serpentine, spark plugs, differential oil.. on and on.. with that being said, lets assume the car have never seen a transmission fluid service.
My transmission feels smooth, nothing bad noticed so far.. my post is to ask, do you think I need to change the fluid? if yes, can anyone give me a tip on what should I consider? What kind of transmission fluid should I purchased? Toyota ATF WS? Should I also change the transmission filter and gasket? Should I do a drain and fill? should I do a flush?
What is the best way to do it with the less risk possible? CL gurus, give me some hints!
Thanks in advance!

Check your owner's manual and look in the section titled Specifications(at least it's on my 2006 GS 300 owner's manual). It's probably towards the end of the manual.
For my year, it says 2.7L,2.8Q for what it's worth.
Good luck!

I had mine's done at dealer. They refused to use a fluid I wanted to provide (saying they have one prepumped into their machine or something).
One of our users on this board somewhere used redline synthetic trans fluid on his (I forgot which weight).
Mine's was done @ 90k mi, and it drives less jerky and more smooth (I used to have a noticable shift, nothing serious, just barely rougher than when I first purchased the car, like you put it in sports mode).
Dealer said they dont reccomend changing it but they said they'd look at it, and it was pretty black @ 90k miles. So they changed it.
You're at 115k, i'm sure that trans fluid change is overdue.
GL!

My 2006 is350 is 190k miles already. Didn’t see transmission fluid change in the carfax report when I bought it at 180k+ five years ago. Had been thinking of changing the transmission fluid myself since then.
Originally, there was a slip shifting from second gear to third gear. So I worried that a fluid change might cause even worse slipping.
As I had been driving it mildly, the shifting gradually turned quite smooth, which could be software automatically adjusting for my driving habit according to some articles. The only thing with it is some occasional 0.5 seconds of gear clacking in deceleration.
It’s probably a good time to change the fluid now. Will just drain and fill myself at home and see what happens. Remember somwhere says the temperature should be 90 farenheit, so probably will do it this summer.

If the fluid smells burnt, then I would only do that one fluid change. That would be a sign the transmission is on its way out

I would replace the fluid, even if the transmission feels fine. "Lifetime" fluid has been proven over and over to be a load of crap. Definitely stick to Toyota WS fluid when you do it, and this video did a marvelous job of explaining the proper procedure:
