Default New Brakes Grinding

I just installed OEM front brake pads bought from the Lexus dealer, on my 2007 AWD GS350. I have done the "break in" stopping and have a low level grinding noise while driving and a loud grind when stopping. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?

Did you replace your brake shims for new ones?
and which pads you got the old ones "Black" (04465-30500) or the new "Blue" (04465-30450) ones with low dust?

I used the old shims, as the dealer said they usually use the same shims when they replace brake pads. I got the new "blue" pads.

Im 99% sure your problem is caused by reusing the shims, never reuse shims, thats a no-no!..Always get new ones! I learned that the hard way.

And they are not that expensive:

Looks like I'll be getting the shim kit and trying again. Thanks, I'll give an update after I get the new ones on.

You're welcome! Also don't forget to lubricate your pads!

How are your rotors? New or old? Reusing shims is fine as long as you use a good synthetic lube on the back. Have you flushed your brake fluid and are your calipers in good shape?

Old fluid can make grinding noise??

If your fluid is old and it causes a caliper to stick or fail, yes you can get brake noise. Old brake fluid holds moisture and can cause corrosion in your brake system. I just mentioned the above items because they can cause your brake system not to function like it should. Good luck.

The rotors were original but didn't feel like they had grooves or were warped. Car has 86,000 miles, I wouldn't imagine the brake fluid being bad.

A 2007 with 86K miles with original brake fluid is not ideal. Hopefully it's been done with prior servicing. My cars usually get a brake flush every 30K miles or every 3-4 years.

Just this weekend, while pulling up to a drive thru ATM I noticed a creeking sound coming from the front brakes as I engaged them. It really sounded nasty and embarrassing. The brakes on this car were replaced last Jan 2017 by the previous owner. Any theories on what I'm facing?

Same as we are pointing the OP. Double check all the previous mentions with your front brakes.

I'd get the wheels off and check you didn't install a pad 'inside out' first. I don't know if it's possible with the GS350, but your description sounds like the backing plate is making contact with the rotor.
