What pads/rotors are recommended? I understand there are several Orem grades availab
2009 Lexus ES 350 w 55k mi will soon need brakes. I feel slight pulsing/vibration when braking going down steep hills. I have read that there are several different grades available. I will have the work done at my dealer and would like to be somewhat knowledgeable about what they will recommend. Above should be OEM-not Orem.

The dealer will only have one grade of OEM pads and rotors to put on your vehicle. These will be Toyota/Lexus OEM parts. If you want a selection, you need an independent shop to do it, which would also probably be a lot cheaper than the dealer for an 8 year old car. I would get quotes from a few places. Brakes are one of the easiest, highest profit jobs at a repair shop.
The original pads are of the Ceramic types, as are those on most Japanese cars.
I see you are in Maryland. If in the DC area, I recommend Satellite Motors in Silver Spring as they specialize in Toyota/Lexus vehicles. I know a few people who go there. I would too but I live in VA.

Unless you are racing, any premium quality ceramic pads will do. I get them at Oreillys or Autozone for their lifetime warranty. For rotors, your OEM rotors should have enough material to resurface them; otherwise, I've had good experience with Wagner e-Coated rotors. The rears should last much longer; I replaced the rears at 175K, with DuraGo rotors.

Check your rotors see if they need to be turned. My last pair were Akebonos, very quiet and hardly and brake dust...Highly recommended. Just recently installed the hawkpads, and they're squeaky even when new. I think I will be trying EBC pads next.
Oem rotors 90/pc
Front pads 45/set
