Default Lexus IS250 Navigation screen Scuffs

I just brought a certified 2014 Lexus IS250 Jan 2017. The navigation screen has permanent scuffs & scratches which makes it hard to see the screen during the day I hear many people have this problem with 2014 & 2015 models.

My car is certified and I've read it's an issue with these cars anyone had the dealer replace at no charge?

I WISH!! I got a CPO GS300 a while back from the SAME dealer that just recently sold me a CPO 2015 IS350 FSport, RWD, Red Interior, and Mark Levinson. Not only do I have the same issue you mention ~ why doesn't Lexus use Gorilla Glass??? ~ the windshield has a million tiny dings & speckles. They did however agree to replace the BALD front tires... Let us know how this goes for ya with the dealer.

New Gen of Lexus seems to be using cheap materials. paint very thin, leather easy to get scratch, windshield with thousand of tiny hole like skin's pores, console scratches easily too so does the plastic cover door panels, my Nav screen same scuffs , mine also 2014 IS350, my guess, its happened when we park for a long period of time in the sun ?

i agree with all of the above save for the paint quality which in my opinion is one of the best amongst all of the marques out there. That and the complaint about leather from f-sport drivers who unknowingly say it scratches easily while not knowing it's leather at all but rather is a type of vinyl called NuLuxe. And even then I think NuLuxe to be one of the better, if not best, pleather in the business. It's super realistic which is why f-sport drivers are caught off guard.

why do it yourself? There is a TSB on this issue and this is still covered under warranty for free, and everybody's car should still be within warranty (although its about to run out soon for some of the very early sold 2014 models)

I just recently brought in my 2014 IS350 AWD to have the headlight condensation and nav screen TSBs done. They did the headlights TSB but refused to do the nav screen since mine is not that bad. I only have the discoloration on the other edges. I might attempt to have them replace it again when it gets worse.

Add yes, the console indeed scratches very easily and is one my of biggest gripes about the car. Looks like they improved the material a bit on the 2015+ models where the finish is not as smooth as the 2014s.

Grab a microfiber and wet it with water and rub it. You will make it worse pretty easily without much effort... Get it done before warranty ends which is soon for most 2014 year models.

Engineering and R&D seem to primarily focus on technological advances in engines, transmissions, AVS, etc, and of course for most manufacturers > fuel economy.

It's unfortunate that similar focus on creature comforts results in technological advances making things seem cheaper, lighter, and instead of the more sturdy & heavy sheet metal used in older models/versions, which btw was amazing on Lexus, the shift now resorts to more Air Bags inside the car.

Why? Because both local dearships refused to do the repair/ replacement, even though my car was still covered under warranty. The reason I was given was : peeling of protective clear coat is due to improper cleaning products being used.

Only thing I ever use to clean the screen was swifter duster.
