I personally think it's the ES.

I know it's heavily masked, but looks more like a Toyota Crown variant perhaps.

Looks RWD and the grill looks like a Crown grill, so I'm with pbm on this.

Unless Lexus is going to dump their spindle grille, I don't think that is one of their products. I agree with pbm317 that it is more likely a Toyota, though it might be a little too small to be a Crown.

Too small to be a Crown? The Crown is currently around 192 inches long, if it's testing with the E-Class, that's currently about 193 inches long, so that's about the same size.

OK...perhaps so. Since the Crown is not an American-market vehicle, I haven't actually seen one close up (I just going by visual-estimates of that mummy-wrapped spy-photo). But, anyhow, I definitely agree with you it is not a Lexus product...unless they are dumping the spindle-grille, which I certainly would not betting the monthly rent on LOL.

Perhaps I was confusing it with the Century.

Same wheels, same front and rear brake set-up save for the prototype is running smaller calipers (base model?). Long overhangs front and rear. The ES brakes are in a different location. I'd say this is the new GS. Note the hood no longer comes up to the grill. They are taking a page out of the latest 6th gen ES and 5th gen LS design. The bulbous 3/4 view reminds me of the rwd LS. Neither current ES or GS has the wheelbase this does either, the gap between the door hinge and the front fender is larger on this prototype. With the LS going to 206in in total length, there is more room for the GS and ES to grow. My personal guess is this is the GS. Looks lower too.

GS500h and multi-stage eCVT with battery pack under rear seats for 60/40 split fold... I hope

If this is in fact Toyota Crown.....then is it that important for Toyota to take the Crown all the way to the Nürburgring ? They have Fuji Speedway in Japan where they could have tested the model's ability. Just a thought...

cmk1 debunked that months ago. The GS is very much a go, and under development, 300B is the program code.

Scheduling for that model begins in July 2020, on TNGA-L. This I had not seen until now, which is quite shocking that I didn't come across this on my own earlier. 200B was for the LS and 950A was for the LC. The new ES is 240B, but the 5GS appears to be under 300B due for SOP in April 2019. Initially this car had been scheduled for late 2018, but I am wondering how recent this information is.

oh that's right, i do vaguely remember reading that post. good, i'm glad the gs is staying -- would be a terrible loss for the marque if it were discontinued.
