My moonroof motor runs but it seems the grooves it moves is tight and a bit stuck. Can I free it up manually? Is that crud in there that I should clean out? My roof is 99% closed and would love to get it to 100% so it's water tight for now
Motor is not too bad at $70 but as I mentioned it does turn when I remove it from the hole where it turns the teeth - so I can bite the bullet and do a simple motor replacement but that may not fix the issue - most likely the tracks that the teeth move are faulty? If so is that a whole moonroof replacement?
i wish I can somehow manually open the moonroof to take a look but I haven't found a way.
