Default Kicker Hideaway or similar powered sub installs?

Tried searching around but didn't find anything as far as anyone with an IS installing any of these small powered subs. Anyone have any reviews? Looking to just add a little more bass to the ML system. Looking at the Kicker 11HS8 Hideaway.

edit: just found this. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...00-my-isf.html

Any other reviews or feedback on similar setups with other brands ect?

For half the cost of two hideaways I opted for a Rockfor Fosgate P-300 12. Doesn't take up all that much space and hits way harder than the hideaways would have. Easy install, it's literally wedged in place by a piece of black foam and doesn't move haha, and sounds pretty good.

I have the gain turned up to maybe 20% and it pounds enough for my taste. Amazon prime, $180.

Would have preferred the wiring not visible but was trying to keep the added weight to the passenger side.

Amp. Has an internal converter. So ran the supplied harness to the amp, spliced it in, and then ran the usual power and ground cables. Remote I tapped off the rear 12v. Not sure why this car doesn't have a 12v in the trunk like most. Also didn't have a schematic and couldn't find a power source at the amp I felt like cutting in to.

Do you have pictures of the wires you cut into?

No, and I loomed it all up with felt tape. I followed threads from on here and was able to find the sub wires pretty easily.

So you tapped 4 sub wires right? I read some threads on it a while back.

Lot of guys tap the front door woofers, but felt the signal from the actual factory sub made the most sense. There's a lot of discussion of summing the door speakers and subwoofer signals to get a broader signal. But went the route of only using the sub to see how it sounded. My 12 can hit the lows and still hang with the highs pretty well. Some room for improvement but without spending endless hours tweaking a converter I'd say it's pretty good.

I used this thread for the rough information and then used a meter to fill the odds and ends.

What pisses me off about the ML is to much sound coming from the front centre speaker. Evan when you fade back to rears. Dam I wish I could get more BASS IN THIS PLACE JJ cale

Figured I'd bump this thread. I ended up purchasing the 12" kicker as referred by FFM. Took a little longer than anticipated since finding the correct wires that match most of the DIY were hit or miss but eventually got it figured out. Not so great pic of the result

I can't recall I think it was just the 2 sub wires from the DIY and the red remote wire.

I guess I should just pull my panel and take a pic of the wiring since people seem to ask all the time haha.
