Hey guys,

Any suggestions? I have the tpms check system warning. I did a quick search here and tried resetting it and also made sure the switch was set to main from the passenger side under the glove box.

It might have been the TPMS's time to go. Just take it to a shop and see which one needs replacing and replace it.

Thanks for the reply. So any tire shop will be able to install a new one? It doesn't need to be Lexus/Toyota part? Any ideas on what I should expect to pay?

You will first need to check if all your 4 sensors are working, meaning if the battery is still alive.

For that you either need an ATEQ TPMS Tool or TechStream software which is the same one the dealer uses.

If for any reason one or more of the sensors are not working because the battery died, the battery inside the sensors are not replaceable so you will need to the sensor itself:

they usually cost 20 bucks used or around 50 new on Fleabay

I dont know if you know, but those sensors are located inside your wheels and look like this:





that number in this case "ACEA264" is the sensor number and that number should be registered in your car TPMS ECU in order for your car to detect it, and for that you will need one of those two software I mentioned above

The easy way but not the cheapest is going to the dealer to have it fixed, or if you want to take the ride, try doing it yourself. I recently changed my wheels are they came with TPMS sensors and I simply registered them to my TPMS ecu and everything worked fine.

i did mine at discount tire shop for $60 out the door, just dont' wanna bother with the hassle,

Did you try checking that tires are at 35 psi.

Yes checked all the tire pressures first, just a follow up, was able to have someone at a tire shop check the sensors. He had a little hand held device that he held near the valve stems. One of the sensors failed. Found one on Amazon and will have the shop install it for $40. Thanks for all the input/advice!!!!

When something like this happens don't hit reset button(for me it is last thing to do with TPMS issues) If a sensor is going dead due to old age then time to replace all four. Any tire shop can handle this. I have A Techstream and Autel TP501. All TPMS related problems can be dealt with except replacing TPMS sensor. (I don't have tire mounting/dismounting tool). After market ones will cost less than Lexus OEM ones. You don't have to install Lexus OEM ones.

Well I got the Denso 550-0103 from Amazon and after the tech installed it he said he was unable to program it. I went to a tire specialist so I'm assuming they knew how to do it. The one he removed from the car was Pacific brand, and I did some research and someone in a different thread (lexus IS I think) mentioned that Denso sensor needed to be programmed with Toyota techstream software.

So does anyone have experience with the Denso brand being more of a programming issue vs the Pacific brand? Thanks in advance

Question;
1. You sure you got the right sensor not ones running on 400MHz rather than 315MHz ones for Lexus?
2. Can they scan and id. the sets? If so,
3. When trying to register this new ids., what happens?
Tried adding double 00 in the front of the ids.
I use Autel TPMS tool 501 or Techstream for TPMS work.
Really there is nothing much to it. You scan and read id., register the new id.
That's it. What is such a hassle? I even use 3rd party universal TPMS(least expensive ones)

Well the one I bought I got on Amazon and it specifically said it would work for an 07 gs, I am assuming the tech knew what he was doing regarding programming, but who knows. It was a dedicated tire shop so they must be doing the programming all the time.

You did not answer my questions. Could they read the ids. of TPMS? Then any tool who can access TPMS memory in the ECU will be able to new ids. in(register, relearn). Basically two questions.
Could they read the ids.? Then they were unable to registere those ids.? Again did they try adding double numeric zeros like 00 in front of the id. as prefix?
If you want to try Techstream, they are like ~30.00 or so.(64bit version costs little more) for 32bit Windows. Install it, plug the laptop into the OBD II port, connect the car with ignition in accessory or run mode., when you scan data, there you can see 4 TPMS ids. Then you select utility which will ask new TPMS ids. You enter one by one, all 4 or 5 if spare tire has TPMS. Time limit to do this procedure is 5 mins. If couldn't do it in time, run the utility again, repeat. There are many Youtube tutorials out there. Good luck.

Just a follow up, the TPMS sensor I got from Amazon was defective. It was an Amazon warehouse deal, and was "like new" but obviously had a problem. New one was programmed fine.

Probably they're too old with dead or very weak batteries.
They're things we should get from specialty shop, not from Amazon some times.
Whoever tried to install, they should've figured out they're defective with the tools
they have. Did you get refund from Amazon?
