Default What kind of mileage are you getting out of your tires.

We were on the lot and saw the stickers about expecting the tires to wear out around 15-20k. My wife was looking to get an rc or a gs but this may not be good news for buying one since we put about 20k on her car.

What kind of mileage are you all getting on your tires? I don't think we want to spend 1k on tires each year. Yes, she is a fast driver.

thanks

Mine wore out quickly due to alignment issues.

You wouldnt be spending 1k a year on tires. The factory tires have a really poor tread wear rating which is why they wear out so fast.

Just about all the aftermarket tires have a much better tread wear rating and last a lot longer so it won't be an issue for you.

Good to know. It was alarming that they would say that they should wear out pretty quickly.

I got 26k out of the factory ones and 31k out of the Michelin AS3 tires, rear. My Michelin AS3 fronts are still good at about 6/32 and 36k miles. I drive pretty rough, a lot of fast take offs whenever I can.

Same here, about 26k. Got a new set of all weather tires just recently and it was about 380 after rebate.

And best yet, the tires were Yokohama advan sport with a 50k warranty. Got them through discount tire direct.

On my 2015 IS 350, I got about 18 000km on my Bridgestone potenza but I feel I could have made a few more thousand km - so for you guys in the States, its about 12 000 miles. I would not recommend these piece of **** tires to anyone!! Bridgestone should be ashamed for these crappy tires

That's good to know. It makes you wonder why they choose such a crappy tire?

Dont know for sure, they cost the same as my Michelins did, but pretty sure there was a deal made between the two companies.

As others have said, the Bridgestone Turanza ER33's are rated at 140 tread wear, most Max summer tires are rated at around 280 and A/S tires at around 400. So there is that problem.

The real problem is the toe alignment changes during turns and acceleration/braking (also known as dynamic toe) caused by the super soft Lower Control Arm (LCA) bushing. It is made for comfort and to reduce NVH. This will cause the front inner tire to wear out extreme fast. The harder you push, the more toe angle it will create resulting more toe wear on the tires. So the front tires should lasts you about 12k to 25k miles depending on your driving style. Rear should last you around 25k to 35k miles. This problem also occurs on GS, 2IS, RC, RCF and ISF since they all share the same front suspension. And other vehicles like Nissan Z's and Infiniti G share the same problem.

Simple remedy is to change out the LCA bushing to a harder durometer bushing such as RR-Racing USRS or Figs Engineering bushing.

Those with more than 20k miles on your front factory tires, I would suggest you take the wheels off and check the inner wear. It is hard to see it with the wheels turn. Mine was showing metal tread at 18k miles with factory alignment.

I made it to 23k miles on the stock tires before having to replace the fronts. I went with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ with a 45K mile warranty from Costco. They are louder than the Bridgestones though. I've put just under 4k miles on them since Jan.

My rears go faster than my fronts every time. I also had a G35 coupe for 11 years and on average the rears went 15k and the fronts at 20k. My Is350 F-Sport had more tread in the fronts than rears at the 20K mark.

That's weird. My rears were perfectly fine when I replaced the tires. I even kept the rears when I switched to Michelin PSS since they had at least 50% left on them. Like I said check the front inner side for the wear.

btw is your car lowered? factory cambers for rear is -1.5 and lowering spring would cause it to go down to 2.5 ish. which can have good wear. front is at .5 from factory.

The dealer confirmed what I saw. The rears definitely needed changing more than the fronts. I only have a sample size of 1 though. Perhaps others can weigh in on their experience.
