If I'm gone for more then 10 days, I disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. I've left for nearly 1.5 months and came back and the battery started right up. I have a Interstate Megatron MTP (i think). I wish there was some "quick release," "or appropraite "toggle switch" for the negative cable. I've seen high end Ferrari's that have a push button something-or- other under the hood that starts those vehicles. Anyone have an idea how to do something that makes re/disconnecting easier (vs pulling out the 10mm wrench each time)?

Unfortunately, what you are experiencing is perfectly normal. There is some "phantom drain" in the SC. I always have a "Jump and Carry" in the trunk. The very smallest one they sell is still good for three or four dead battery starts, so no need to get the huge one. It fits in the little well on either side of the trunk.

Have your battery tested. You never know what condition it's in since you just got the car, even if it's 2 years old.
If battery checks out fine, you need to find the source of the drain. A battery tender is a band-aid in this case. It's not normal for your battery to drain significantly in 3-4 days.

Shawn the battery disconnect switches have been around for a very long time, and pretty cheap. https://www.amazon.com/battery-disco...nnect%20switch

I like this one. It is easy to install with no modifications to your battery cable https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Disco...connect+switch

Had a similar problem as OP. Had to keep battery on trickle charger or wouldn't start after a couple days of sitting. Battery voltage checked out good on my voltmeter, both with engine off and running. Took it in and had better test done and cold cranking amps were only 161, much too low for this car. A new battery fixed the problem, at least no problem since replacing it. My battery was 4 years old, so no real surprise.

Thanks for the above info on the battery quick disconnect. Slapped it on a few days ago and works perfectly. Was considering a few different options including the "throw" switch above but kept fearing that the throw switch would make accident contact with something causing arc. Also considered one with caps by MOTOPOWER but decided against it (read that the caps don't allow firm jumper cable connection). I'm happy with my purchase. Had to modify the stock cable connection by removing the circular clamp, but simple enough. Reused the 10mm bolt and nut to attach OEM Negative Cable to the disconnect. Now easy to disconnect/reconnect on the fly when I'm leaving town for extended periods of time.

I have left my 2004 SC in garage without starting for 2 weeks and it starts immediately with no issues with battery. Battery is approx 1 year old.
