Default A little disappointed..

So yesterday on the way home on the highway I came across a Cadillac CTS vsport (which I was interested in) and decided to have a little fun. Now before you say "What do you expect" because of the HP difference, I at least thought my F sport would have put up a better fight than the outcome lol. No matter what mode, gear, paddle shifting, head start, and etc I couldn't do anything with that CTS. Don't get me wrong, I am still happy to have my GS and don't regret my choice, but I felt like a big homer when the best comeback that I had while getting off the exit was "At least my car is more reliable!" Lol. He proceeded to floor the gas pedal even harder while blowing past me smiling, it was a beautiful car though, black on black.

The OP meant a VSPORT (3.6 TT 420hp) not the almighty CTS V (6.2 L 640 HP).

The GSF will have a very hard time beating the VSPORT...forget your v6 GS

The CTS V will destroy the GSF even with the driver sleeping

120 hp over you is a lot buddy lol. And 150 lb-ft more torque... The GS F-Sport needs that V6TT.

True, but for the cars to be in the same class it's a bit frustrating that the GS can't compete better than that.

That's just the thing, the 3.6L CTS competes with the 3.5L perfectly. The GS just has nothing to slot between the NA V6 and the SCV8 in the V. I don't see Lexus giving the GS a fourth engine choice though. I'm ok with them replacing the NA V6 with a twin turbo V6 altogether, if they'd beef up the performance of the turbo 4 to make up for the dead space the NA V6 would be.

What are you talking about???? I'm not referring to the Cadillac CTS-V, I'm talking about the CTS VSPORT!

This is a pretty typical outcome competing with a similar size and weigh vehicle with more power, and probably a fearless driver. Were you driving your car to the limit, or was he?
If it makes you feel better, I used to drive my modified Evo hard and embarrass some much bigger, much nicer, much better and much more expensive cars. Smoking a Porsche, BMW or Maserati in a 4 door 2.0litre 4 cylinder was glorious. But at the end of the day, I was still driving a lancer.
Remember your vehicle, white it performs well, is not a high performance vehicle in the grand scheme of thing, at least you probably had some fun stretching its legs.

I definitely wasnt trying to push my car to the limit, for one thats not the lexus strong suit. So once i hit 120 i realized i wasnt making a dent in the gap, so I came out of it. Oh I definitely had fun stretching the legs out.

Having fun in any car, driving to your ability, to a level thats exciting for you, is all you can ask for. You'll never have the fastest car out there, you dont need it. I love seeing some beast blow the doors off my cars, just awes me that someone has a nice machine and I appreciate that. Some of the most fun drives I have had have been pushing little mid range non performance cars hard on a windy road. Dont need to be a world beater to have fun. Glad the lex put a smile on your face!
