'02 ES 300 No Sound From Radio
Aloha, I know its my first post. My friend's car is an '02 ES 300. As with the thread title, there is no sound from the radio. This is not the Mark Levinson unit. I tried various other search methods and tested what I have read. I still cant find a solution. Here is a list of what I noticed and tried;
- Radio turns on, able to change stations, able to switch to CD. I did not try the cassette player.
- I noticed no numerical value when volume dial is turned in either direction.
- I am unable to adjust the bass, treble, fading front to rear and left to right. I am able to switch to the different settings but, unable to make adjustments, and I remember seeing the numerical value of 00 of each setting. But again cant adjust.
- Fuses are good, I do have power to the Pioneer amplifier behind the glove box.
- I have an average of 6 ohms of resistance to each set of designated speakers from the connector at the amplifier.
- I only had time to disassemble and disconnect the left and right front speakers on the front door panels.
- I have found the same radio and amplifier from eBay, although used, still doesn't work.
- I took apart the covers on both the radio and amplifier in search of any burnt diodes or burnt odor, nothing was found.
Anything else I should check? Its kind of frustrating. For some reason from what I have read, the amp controls the volume. My friend already ordered another amp. I am hoping someone here could lead me into the right direction in repairing this problem before taking a gamble on this high dollar part. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey one2boost,
How did you fixed the problem? I was wondering because my car is having that problem also. I have a 1999 Lexus ES300 and have the stock Pioneer speaker setup. Any advice from anyone that can help me?

I am having the exact same problem. I even swapped the radio out with a used one (same model), but same problem persists. Since I've installed another radio, and still having same problem,it must be something else (unless both radios are bad).
Looking for help, thanks.
