Default LED headlights

Afternoon guys,

New owner of a 2006 GS300. I've had the car for about 5 months now and I am loving everything about it. I already replaced a ballast that went out with the help of the community and did an HID conversion for my fog lights. Next thing I want to change the little bulbs that share the housing with the high beams. I'm looking into LEDs but all the threads about it are a bit old 2+ years and a lot changes in that time, so I come to you for help. Do i need anything special to do it (special ballast)? Is the bulb wide 194? What is the maximum wattage allowed? From what I have seen, the best option it to get a 360 so that it fills the whole housing, so what would you recommend? Any other advice regarding this is welcome.

Thank you for your help in this and for the help during all my past and future diy endeavors.

The small bulb you are looking at is a 194 wedge bulb. There is no ballast needed for this bulb. I personally use Carmate BW129 sold in Japan. But any 360 illuminating led bulb will work well.

I used the 360 LED also I had the blue but it was too blue and was afraid of getting a ticket so I opted for the white and put the blue ones under the mirror for the puddle light.

I got 194 wide bulbs that is 360 degrees for mine. They are 6000K temperature LEDs. I did not need a ballast, they plugged right in for me.

Which lights in the vehicle are you looking to replace? I normally find the Putco 360 LED bulbs in 194 to be too long for most applications.

the parking light, see attached, the inner one, not looking for that deep blue, just 6000k white-ish light

I recently done mine. Any T10 wedge LED will fit, there is a fair bit of room for a longer, stacked LED arrangement to fit, and you want a 360 degree bulb. This is what I used.

New bulb on the left Vs the factory bulb.

It;s a simple swap procedure, remove the engine bay lining by popping out the tab clips holding them in place, the bulbs are in a "stalk" that runs into the housing. it has a flat tab extending out the back you will see, grab it, twist it, pull it out and replace the bulb, remember the new bulbs will likely be polarity sensitive so check they are in the correct + and + before you stick them back in the housing. If you need help feel free to PM me.

Did mine as well. Very easy straight forward. I did 6000k all white everything. All white DRLs coming soon. Bought these high quality T10s off eBay. Very cheap. Thought I'd share.

Take a look at the Philips 194 LED bulbs which are rated at 6000K:
