Default Additional miles on a lease

I think I'm going to need more miles than the 10,000 miles/year that I got on my original lease 9 months ago.
Can I purchase additional miles from Lexus at this time, at a lower rate, than the .25 cent/mile rate charged at the end of the lease?

Why would you want to? You are already paying a higher rate per mile in your base lease I bet. Divide your total lease payments by the total miles allowed in the lease and I think you will be over 50 cents a mile already.

I pre-paid an additional 3K/year when I took out a lease (at $0.15/mile) - but that was at the lease's inception. There's nothing wrong with asking. They may bite - since, in the end, you just MIGHT not use them - and they'd "win" in that case - so they may go along with you.

I am no expert on lease but little I know ,,,, make sure you talk to the leasing company before you are about to hit your limit of milage (if it s before the time).

Don't waste your time or money. If you trade it in on a new lease or purchase at the dealership they will usually wave the additional mileage cost in order to get you in another vehicle. And if you decide to purchase it then there is no mileage cost anyway.

Is leasing the best way to go or to purchase a new NX?

Depends upon how many miles you plan on driving it; and your desire to have a new car every 2.5~3 years.

I've put 64,000 miles on mine in 3.5 years, so I doubt I would have enjoyed the mileage overage (I do plan to see 200K and ten years on her).

Would depend on the fine print on the lease you signed.
