Default How common is the GX in your area?

When we had the RX, we thought RX was common. Now that we got the GX and paid more attention, we realized the GX is quite common in my area as well. This is the second time I'm surrounded by two other GX. I like the GX for its ride quality but it's always nice to see another one on the road.

Years 10-13 are pretty rare, 14+ are quite common.

I was surprised by this too especially around my area (San Jose/Bay Area). At the local Costco parking lot, I saw more 14+ than 10-13 and more gx470 as well. I do see one or two older GX around the neighborhood but much less than gx470 and 14+.

And...Where I live (north of Atlanta in the suburbs) I pay attention to the driver. 90% of the time it is a female. Yea, I live in Soccer mom territory

Have you noticed the same?

470s in my area seem to be like 90% female... 460's seem to be about 60% female. Undoubtedly I would see a lot more if I immersed myself more heavily into the urban core but I generally skirt those areas most of the time.

Actually even though the local dealer sells a ton of them I don't find many "newer" ones to be that common around here. I guess they are all hiding in their respective garages

Same here... Since 2015 I see a lot of 14+ GX's, before that I would barely see any.. And I am in the NYC / LI metro area.

We almost never saw them, until we bought one. Now seems like they are everywhere.

In Sunset Park, Brooklyn which happens to be a large Asian community it's not uncommon to see at least one in every block. I think since they lowered the price starting with 2014 there has been an explosion of GXs everywhere.

GX's still aren't as common as RX's, 4Runners and Sequoias around here, but still fairly popular given the needs for AWD and cargo space in Colorado.

I'm surprised at the sales numbers. I wonder how much has to do with the front end changes versus the plunging gas prices we've seen over the past 5 years.

I have the same experience. RX's, 4Runners, and Sequoias proliferate this area of PA. I could easily go to our local Wegman's and park by a combination of all without even thinking about it. Having come for an ES (then the realtors car of choice) then from an RX that became the realtors/soccer-mom's car of choice (no offense meant) it appears I am starting a trend around here. And no, I am not a realtor, and my kids have 4 paws. GX's on the other hand are a bit rarer of a breed unless you are talking older versions that seem to be the go-to choice for the long-term owner or pre-owned market. Yet, the local dealer keeps on selling them right off the boat... I just don't see them. Friend of mine is getting a 4Runner TRD Pro in Cement coming from his FJ LTD. I tried to talk him into the GX since the cost difference is sort of negligible but he wanted the 4Runner and I really can't fault him on that one. Nice package, great off-roading capabilities, and it places him into a Toyota branded truck again that has an almost cult-like following similar to my old Taco. He just didn't want or need to Lexus amenities and the V8 that came with the GX. Go explore, haul his mountain bikes, tow a motorcycle for trailing, carry a bunch of stuff to the kids college dorm... makes complete sense. I can do the same thing only his style is different than mine - I need the luxury and some way to fit my fat *** into an SUV

I barely see them in south O.C., but I only have a 7mile commute to work.. There are more Audis, Mercs and Bimmers than Lexus from what I've noticed.

It's somewhat common.

What's rare is getting a wave back, just crooked looks from soccer moms.

Tons of them around here. Almost all women, except the 470s, which are still mostly driven by women but not quite so predominantly.

Very common and it's basically a soccer mom SUV. It's probably something 95% female drivers.

But I probably see even more Mercedes GL SUVs.
