Default How do I remove rear seat power outlet?

Yes, I have used the search forum, without success. The power outlet near the floor on the back side of the center console is defective. How do I remove it?

Going by memory here.

Disconnect battery.
Slide off one of the plastic piece.
Peek inside the socket and lift/push down a tab and pull out the metal tube.

This turned out to be a false alarm. My outlet works.

That's not what I thought the issue was; it's that the cigarette lighter insert did not fit so I thought that the outlet was bad. In fact, it perfectly accepts the cell-phone charger.

Just FYI, the dealer broke mine when he replaced the brake lamp module. Beige color is no longer available so he put in a black one! Looks like crap but it works.

I broke mine doing the same thing. There are some tips here on getting it out but I was in a hurry... and it wasn't being used for anything anyways... weak, I know.
