Problems after replacing Oxygen sensor
Hi!
2 sweeks ago i replaced bank 2, sensor 1 oxygen sensor on my friends car. Efter it was done the check engine light went out by itself. 2 days later it turned on again, but he did not notice any change in performance. Yesterday he called me and said his car nearly stalls when accelerating sometimes and takes alot of fuel. Today I connected it to my ODBII-reader and got the following codes: P-0300, 0302, 0304, 0306, 0174, 0051, 2197. It also runs quite bad and sputters something from the exhaust, probably unburned fuel, but it looked rather oily. Also the reading from the sensor was just about 0.15v in my ODB-instrument.
So what can have happened? I used a new Denso sensor. Is it probable it was faulty? Or can I have screwed something up? I am still learning this whole repair-thing. I double-checked today so that the sensor was firm in it's socket and that the cables was on allright. When removing the old sensor I had a bit of a hard time removing the cables, can I have broke the connector?
Would be very thankful for any insights.

Well, only thing that was changed is the sensor so I would suspect a bad sensor out of the box. Doesn't happen often but it does happen. Return it for a new one. If that one exhibits the same issues then you may have damaged the harness. Occam's razor - start with the sensor.

Can you confirm that the Denso part number for bank 2, sensor 1 is 234-9068? I have a hard time finding any good confirmation on this. Maybe I just put in the wrong one...

According to the info from Denso, the upstream O2 sensor should be part number 234-9042. That is for the US spec vehicle, I don't know if your's requires a different part or not. It doesn't specify US or worldwide. How did you find the part number you used? You might want to get ahold of a Lexus dealer in your area and get the number from them.
