Default 2016 GS350 Touch Lock Issue

Is anyone having trouble with the touch locks on their 2016 GS350? This is driver's side specific, as of now, and I have been forced to get the fob out and use it. I see posts on the NX forum for the same issue and am curious if this is a common problem. Is there any remedy or should I just take it in and have the dealer test it and tell me that there is nothing wrong?

Both the top and bottom touch button are not functioning?

Specifically, what types of issues are you having? Where are you touching on the handle? Are you having problems both with locking and unlocking?

I'm not sure what you mean by "top and bottom". This is the small depression on the outside door handle. The car is not locking when resting my finger, hand, etc. on the depression. This is locking only. I have no issues when grabbing the door handle to unlock.

There's another sensor depression on the under side of the handle. Check to see if that one is working.

Gotcha...thank you for that. I wasn't aware that there was a sensor on the bottom. Should I be "pinching" the handle and touching both depressions, or is top or bottom sufficient?

I just brush my finger over the top depression and it does the trick. If that is not working for you, there is something wrong.

I had my right rear door handle connection come loose. Same symptoms, wouldn't lock with the finger graze. Had it checked on a service and they just plugged it back in. Works fine.

I have had some issues with this on my '16 GS 350 in my several months of ownership. It would sometimes take several tries to get this to work on different occasions. I haven't noticed it lately, so maybe it worked itself out.

Just making sure you're doing it correctly...you're not grabbing the handle while pressing the detent, right? You are supposed to just touch the detent (top or bottom).
